Does anybody play both side of the craps table at the same time? Does it offer an advantage given that the 4 and 10 do not come up often. For example If I'm betting the pass line and the come out roll is a 6. Do I have an advantage or is it a smart play if I lay the 4 and 10 and place the 8?

Hi and welcome
There is no advantage doing this, and you are probably exposing more money to a game where all*** bets have a house edge.
***: Except when "Taking the Odds" or "Laying the Odds", which has a 0% house edge (but you have to make a -EV bet before you can make these additional bets).
