I bought my first house this year, so I only have money for a single "real" vacation (5+ days and a flight).

Im Diamond with CET, so I can get 4 free nights at Atlantis, or 4-5 nights free at most CET Vegas properties.

Which would you do?

I think the flight to the Bahamas from Philly would be a bit more expensive than Vegas. And it seems like it's $100/day minimum for food at the resort. But on the plus side, Atlantis looks pretty cool. Is it in a nice area? Decent airport?

If I where to go the Vegas route, which CET resort should I shoot for? My girlfriend is dead set on the Linq, but I've read it's not so nice.

And which time of year is best for either? I'd imagine I'd want to avoid hurricane season for the Bahamas, but Vegas is pretty much just hot and dry all year, right? I only went once when I was 18.

Thanks for the advice.

We thought about Atlantis but decided against it. There is a thread on here with lots of good info.

Reasons against atlantis. Flight was expensive, resort fee is crazy high, food is really expensive as you mentioned, and limits on gaming is high. I have heard 25 min on table games.

If you chose vegas then I would make sure you plan things to do and not just hang out at a bar and casino all week like my parents. There is so much great stuff to do. You can do a lot of it economically with aps like myvegas

Forgot to answer the other questions. Time of year depends on what you want to do. If you want to hang at the pool then avoid nov-march. The high on monday is only 68. I would stick with May-June or sept-oct. Temps will still be mid 80s to mid 90s.

I would say Vegas.
CET lowered their benefits for Atlantis for 2017.

as for room, all of RIO's rooms are suites and are 600 sq ft.
on the Strip, Bally's has the largest rooms out of the usual free rooms offered.

also, if driving, pick a CET hotel that has 2 entrances to the garage.
traffic on Vegas blvd can be horrible at times.
its nice to have an option to enter from another street

Sounds like you've been to Vegas many times, and the Bahamas zero times. Go to the new place for you. Pick a time when the weather in Philly generally sucks and the weather in the Bahamas is great. Sister, mother (R.I.P), GF all have been to Atlantis, and all loved it. All mentioned how expensive it was, too. I'm considering it for a long weekend next fall.

. Go to the new place for you.

Yeah, even if turns out to be kind of a bummer,,,, it still sounds like an adventuresome choice as opposed to Vegas again.

I've only been to Vegas once when I was 18. All the CET juice is from AC.

My sister lives in NY and goes to Atlantis yearly. To save money, she changes planes in Charlotte. It seems like a pain to me, but when you save almost $200 a person and have five people, your savings add up pretty quick.
Atlantis has food plans if you pre-book them. Still not cheap, but you can save some money.
