Does it make any sense to bet 3x pre flop when you have ace with low kicker ie 2 to 6, king, 3 to 7 to slightly decrease your exposure?

You can find the strategy for the game on that page, if you intend to play the proper strategy, just pretend the 3x is not even an option.
If you are raising preflop it is because you are expected to win based on the cards you have, if you have a positive mathematical expectation, then you want to bet as much as you are allowed to bet.

If you're trying to play optimally, never 3x. Either a hand is worth betting or it isn't. It's very binary.
The only time I will ever 3x is if a losing 4x leaves me with too little to play another hand. And I concede that is costing me percentage points.

Casinos are not your friends, they want your money. But so does Disneyland.
And there is no chance in hell that you will go to Disneyland and come back with more money than you went with.

Agree with the previous posters completely. If you're not getting big hands (RF, SF, Quads), the way you improve your chances of winning decent money playing UTH, is by taking advantage of your opportunities to bet a multiplier of your Ante/Blind. All of that excellent strategy linked above kind of goes out the window if you don't follow it.

Someone on here calculated recently that if you play 3x when you should 4x, the house edge goes up to about 7%. As Yoda says, "Do, or do not."
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

You want to bet more, not less. I am too lazy to calculate it to be sure, but I think that if you could bet 5x instead of 4, it would be a player advantage game. I would definitely bet 5 (or more) if there were a casino that allowed it.
