I'd be curious to hear that your thoughts are on the following matter:
Have you ever experienced both extremes of gambling streaks wins/losses? And what do you do in terms of control?
With respect to wins, have you ever won so much on a consecutive basis where it seemed like you were really gambling as oppose to just playing normally? They say that the more you win, the less gratifying each outcome becomes, hence you either need to have more wins to derive the same pleasure or win bigger to get the same kick. If you're on a streak where you're up say 10 consecutive wins, do you set a limit where you'll walk. An amount on your tray or stack that will trigger a rule for you to stop? Do you bet more until you bust.
Conversely, suppose you keep losing. Maybe you're on a very bad consecutive streak. So every loss hurts/frustrates more. Awhile back we had a member ask for recommendations about big losses. It sounded like a general consensus was to take time off to get yourself off rock-bottom. Suppose either you're at the casino and you lose a predetermined amount, on subsequent trips you keep hitting the same loss max threshold. What then? Obviously it's no longer fun.
One story I'd like to share. I was on a craps table the other night and saw both extremes. The guy on position 2 went up a couple of grand after betting on $10 units. The guy on position 10 went down a couple of grand after betting $25 units. Position 2 started down but wound up having a crazy streak up to finish. Position 10 started up, but bleed it down to nothing.
Do you put in some kind of cooling off period rule or stop-gap on consecutive losses. 3 back-to-back losses and you walk or something. And what about wins.
