A priest who had served a church near Portland was charged with theft, for skimming the offerings / cash payments and applying it to personal use.

It's reported he received fliers from a variety of casinos.

Oops.

Interesting, almost. There have been a lot of priests, and other church officials, accused of this and that, accelerating in recent years with the intro of better and faster, less (blank) reporting.

There is also a lot of 'press' about bad cops, and bad politicians, and bad corporate executives, and bad pacific NW attorneys, and all attorneys for that matter. Speedier, more specific, more available to all ( at least in USA ). You had a story about a church priest you wanted to mention. What was it about this story that you felt compelled to mention it on this (mostly) set of gambling Forums? Did you just want to talk with some buds about the story ( very understandable BTW ) or were you trying to make a significant point that I missed so far? Didn't sound like a joke, so you were trying to say what? Maybe just another news story, you thought we might have missed, that's cool, no harm, no foul. Maybe I just figured it out, the priest had "mailers". That might be bad for a priest. Could be worse, he apparently wasn't caught in the Nunnery after curfew....or the boy's dorm...

And that is a long, and convoluted, joke in and of itself.
You know you're loved here V. ( no, not like that ).
Youuuuuu MIGHT be a 'rascal' if.......(nevermind ;-)...2F

I mentioned the post to point out the power gambling can have over people.

Priests take a vow "before god" and this priest seems to have violated it.

Call it breaching the Ultimate Fiduciary Duty.

To me it's a "human interest" story, which I posted to point out how none of us are immune from temptation to feed a gambling jones: be ever vigilant, people.
