This should go without saying for any player in any casino, but I wonder how stupid the PA casinos think players are?
At Rivers in Pittshurgh I just this morning walked thru and noticed 2 different pay tables for Jacks or Better. Some machines more to the middle of the place were paying 9/5 while those nearer the edge and cage were paying 8/5. Meanwhile if you play at the Meadows outside town you are stuck with 7/5.
So look around if you are still going to play machines in those money-sucking pits. Myself I will wait for table games or some free play.

I'd love to see the different paytable machines placed side by side... and watch if anyone even notices much less makes the approriate decisions.

The Wiz has remarked, here and on his regular site, that:
A - You should look around and check before playing;
B - He often sees people playing bad paytables, with better paytables on the NEXT machine.
