Also, does anyone know if the Grand charges a resort fee?
Quote: ClarkWGriswoldThe price is negligible...so would you choose the IP or Harrah's Grand?

For me, definitely the grand...soon to be renamed harrahs gulf coast. No resort fee. Free valet. Big multiyear remodel underway though and staying open throughout.
Quote: vegasI would choose the Grand but if you play video poker the Grand does not have many machines and the paytables are terrible. I enjoyed staying there and had a nice view of the gulf. I was not charged a resort fee but room was comp so really not sure about a fee
Well, I don't think this will be a gambling trip at all. Just want to get away for vacation.
If it's more of a vacation trip, check out some local restaurants. Half Shell is a must if you like oysters.
Quote: corvetteracingIsn't New Jersey nasty !? I'm glad you are still traveling. Nice to know. Won't be for long.
IP is bigger and better, IMO. The Grand is aight, but certainly not what it once was.
Quote: corvetteracingAwesome, so what else is there aside from the filthy casinos to see or do ?
There is actually a non-filthy casino. It's the smoke-free Palace Casino Resort, within easy walking distance from the Grand. With weeknight rates of $59 to $69 for an excellent hotel room, it's the best value if you're paying.
Quote: corvetteracingWasn't the shoreline just tore up there recently? Boardwalk & all ? Why would you want to go see that all now? I would wait until all of it is back up & running, clean & new then I would go leave my prints on it. I have been to the gulf in pensacola florida it was classy. I really enjoyed that but for some reason do not see AC as that.
The Boardwalk, between Revel and the Atlantic Club, suffered no damage to speak of. Up beach, past Revel, got hit but that area wasn't maintained to begin with.
