I don't recall ever seeing it below $5 there.

was thinking of heading to Joker's Wild to try out their cheap table games. Is it nice or a dump?
Their craps table opens a 9 am, and is full as soon as they open it, there are a few good shooters that hit it everyday. But if you like a fast pace game, you will not find it there. Its a break-in house, so the pay outs can be painfully slow. Also the players will drive you nuts with all the things they are doing, it takes forever to get the dice back to any shooter!
Other wise beside the smoky smell of the place, it's not that bad, if you can ever find the table without anybody on it to practice, what you are doing.
The breakfast isn't too bad, but it damn sure isn't gourmet food!

Ok Rick, I'll play.....what are "Good Shooters"?
Quote: VCUSkyhawkI was there about 4 or 5 years ago and I remember that Fitz and Goldstrike had $3 BJ during the day. I was just curious if anybody could confirm either of them still do that. I never looked into Craps back then as I really didn't understand the game that well.
Fitz still does on Tuesdays I think for both Craps and BJ. (It could be Mon. but I think it is Tuesday.) Resorts offers $3 BJ and craps during the week, iirc, but only 2X odds on craps. And a $5 double deck pitch game. Both games are standard Tunica rules: 3:2 BJ, H17, DOA, DAS, no surrender. Hollywood also offers the terrible $1 BJ with a 25c per hand commission. Obv go to resorts and play $3 instead. Hollywood also has a bubble craps unit now according to the website (I haven't seen it), but that may have a lower minimum as well.

There the one thing that most casinos will never see, someone that will make a few points consistently when they are shooting, while some find that impossible to believe, there are some random rollers and so-called DI’s that do the impossible when they are shooting!
The problem with Jokers Wild is that, most craps players there, all believe that what they do has no effect on what the shooter is doing when they are shooting! They love to stack their chips as high as they can get them. They love making late bets, where the money is flying across the table as the shooter is shooter.
You will never see a casino where the players take down their bets after they made $1 only to put them right back up, after one roll, the bets go up,..the bets go down, after a 67 roll, they are lucky if they made $20. Every time there is a shot made, you may be lucky if you get the dice back after two minutes or more, the players are all arguing that they were paid wrong, and in most cases they are right, because of the break-in dealer!
You have to remember that most of the players that go in there are all locals that are retired, and have nothing better to do all day long. Some times I will stop in there to see a DI that I know that plays there. It drives me nuts just watching what is happening on that table, I always ask him, why does he play there, when he could find a better game two miles away. He likes the other players that have migrated there from some of the other local casinos that he has made friends with over the years. He is now playing a social game of craps! The rest of the players in there are all doing the same thing, it’s their thing to do every day that gets them out of their house.
Most players do not know how to recognize someone that is shooting well, that is why you will always see players on the tables, still betting the way they started out betting, after 154 rolls of the dice, when the record was broke, there were still players on that table betting red chips. That kind of play goes on everyday in casinos all over the world.

A "Good Shooter" is one of those lucky people who were born with a horse shoe. They rarely have a PSO roll, and many times they make at least one point.
When I go to Beau Rivage for a 3 day trip, I usually end up playing with the same people over the 3 days. And on occasion, there will be a person who it is obvious you want to bet on.
Are they controlling the dice? Hell no. But they consistently are making numbers, so they are 'Good Shooters'.

Sounds like "The Arm:" the woman Frank Scoblete wrote about in his books.
She wasn't a DI per se: she rolled dem bones before that crap became popular or known.
IIRC, he said that "the crew" would wake her up just to have her shoot.
Such chutzpah.

I was just there earlier this month and saw a $3 Craps table at The Fitz, as well as $3 Blackjack all the time. I believe Resorts and maybe Hollywood also offered low limit craps. Resorts and Bally's also claim to offer 'stand on soft 17' rule for Blackjack, but I observed that it was one table only for each property and not open during the week. Rooms are cheap in Tunica too, especially Mon-Thurs.

RaleighCraps is one of the few posters on this board that I’ve met, here in Vegas, that is not a DI, I knew that before I met him, and had no problem with that fact. He is what everybody calls a rhythm shooter. He doesn’t set the dice, but get on some really good rolls, when he is shooting, by just putting the dice back in the same spot every time he throws them. RaleighCraps is one of those shooters that I will bet on anytime I see him on a table, and he is not a DI.
A good example of a good shooter would be the guy that I told RaleighCraps to bet the field on one morning and to just parlay his bets up on this shooter in the field, once this guy made a field number. He made just about all his money back betting that way on this one shooter. Every time, I’ve seen this one guy shooting, the guy make field numbers, like there is no tomorrow. The problem that morning was RaleighCraps had to catch a flight out of Vegas, so we couldn't stay at that table.
Guys that play craps all the time notice shooters like our field number shooter, and capitalize on what they are seeing. I track every table that I play on, and although I don’t know the name of a particular shooter, I do pull up what I’ve seen them do before in my mind, when they were shooting, by their face. Most craps players only play craps a few times a year; they travel to places like Las Vegas to play and are only here for a few days or over the weekend.
For the local DI’s, or the guys that play craps here in Vegas everyday, we have to develop skills that will keep us in the game, one of them is picking out shooters we can bet on to make money! Do we win all the time, no! What we do is to limit our losing sessions, with loss limits!

Thanks for the feedback Lucky. I liked Fitz last time I was there, I will check them out. Hopefully they still have the $3 dollar game. I am actually staying at the Goldstrike as I have 1 comp night and the other two nights I am doing their poker room rate. I will let ya'll know what I find out.

Unfortunately, I don't think any of the casinos on "Casino Center" will have <$5 games. You'll likely have to drive to Fitz/Resorts/Hollywood instead to play them.
