I've never come up with a really good signature line, and my current one is more like an inside joke. Anyway, I think some of these are pretty good!
Malaru - "Although men flatter themselves with their great actions, they are not so often the result of a great design as of chance." - Francois De La Rochefoucauld
Wizard - It's not whether you win or lose; it's whether or not you had a good bet.
djteddybear - Superstitions are silly, childish, irrational rituals, born out of fear of the unknown. But how much does it cost to knock on wood?
thecesspit - "Then you can admire the real gambler, who has neither eaten, slept through nor lived, he has so smarted under the scourge of his martingale, so suffered on the rack of his desire, for a coup at trente-et-quarante" - Honore de Balzac, 1829
teddys - "Since Alice had never received any religious instruction, and since she had led a blameless life, she never thought of her awful luck as being anything but accidents in a very busy place. Good for her." -Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.
pacomartin - Wine loved I deeply, dice dearly -Edgar, betrayed son of Gloucester in King Lear
mathextremist - "In my own case, when it seemed to me after a long illness that death was close at hand, I found no little solace in playing constantly at dice." -- Girolamo Cardano, 1563

the next time Dame Fortune toys with your heart, your soul and your wallet, raise your glass and praise her thus: Thanks for nothing, you cold-hearted, evil, damnable, nefarious, low-life, malicious monster from Hell! She is, after all, stone deaf. ... Arnold Snyder

What I came in here to say. Short and witty, exactly what a good signature should be.

It's pretty lengthy, but memorable: from another board...
"Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own
father can make you live forever if you telepathically tell him you
accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul
that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a
talking snake to eat from a magical tree..... yeah, makes perfect sense."

I'm not going to vote, I think they're all good.
I don't have one here, but somewhere else I have one that I got from solving mah-jongg in WEP: "Bouncy ball is the source of all goodness and light."

Something in the back of my head tells me that, because I'm on the ballot, I shouldn't vote.
For what it's worth, I came up with my signature on my own. OK, I may have heard it before, but didn't specifically remember it when I came up with it. And i struggled with the wording, but wrote it myself.
I chose it because: A) There seemed to be a lot of discussion of superstition on this board. B) I often remark that you wont find a more superstitious bunch than those crowded around a craps table.
That said, of all the others, I like the Wiz' line best.
Which do I prefer between Wiz' and my own? No comment.

Someone once asked me why women don't gamble as much as men do, and I gave the common-sensical reply that we don't have as much money. That was a true but incomplete answer. In fact, women's total instinct for gambling is satisfied by marriage. ~Gloria Steinem

I think I have a quotation that fits this site very well:
"Against stupidity the gods themselves contend in vain." Schiller.
Think of the thread about the most annoying things at a BJ table.
