The builder of the bridge is a large government contractor that donates a lot of money to Marco Rubio and other FL politicians.
This is the second bridge they built that has collapsed.

I think the other 'bridge' was simple scaffolding and planking at the airport.
An engineer phoned a state official's voicemail about cracks in the pylon end of the bridge TWO DAYS before the collapse but state employee did not check his voicemail until well after the collapse.
I can not comprehend performing a stress test without halting vehicular traffic.
