First: I'm looking for a first class seafood buffet. Please give me the top two or three.
Second: I know that this place has some nice low min craps, as in $3 with $0.50 chips. Will these minimums be around over the weekend? Specifically between midnight and 9am between Friday and.Saturday.
Thanks guys.
Complete with .25 and .50 chips.
Sometimes they will raise both tables to $5, but that will usually drop back down after 2AM.
Trump Plaza runs one $3 table in the morning on weekdays from about 8AM.

Thank you, .25 and .50 chips alone would let me press slower. I appreciate the response.
To facilitate easy payments on low-roller 5/9 and 4/10 bets.
Prop bets can be made for .50.
I love tossing in a buck and telling them 'two way hard eight'
Come to think of it. The buffet at Showboat has a once-a-week seafood thing on Saturdays. One of my travel buddies really enjoyed it (I now remember being horrified by the spectacle).
Quote: ahiromuI just have two questions about this town, I know there are a handful of you who have spent many weekends there.

Although I fancy myself as something of an A.C. buff, to the point of having created the Google Map: Atlantic City Casinos & Points Of Interest, I'm not a regular enough to have known where to find craps quarter games. And I'm not a seafood fan, so I couldn't answer that question either. But somewhere in the back of my mind, I recall that Harrah's is known for their seafood buffet.
Kind of like religion, often for the weak minded. On the rare times I catch my brain automatically trying to force myself into some superstition, I make it stop. If I'm lining my chips up in front of me a certain way, it's not superstition, it's to keep track of what I'm doing.
Showboat, Showboat, Showboat. Showboat. Simply one of the best seafood buffets I've been to, with king crab, FRESH Atlantic oysters, and a bunch of other good fish things (tons of shrimp). One of my top 3 buffets anywhere, and the great thing is in July it was free if you gambled only a little. (Not sure if that promotion is still going on.)Quote: ahiromuBy seafood buffet, I just mean crab legs. I would think that's assumed but wanted to clarify. If by chance there's a stupidly expensive one with king crab or lobster, please mention that.
s2dbaker: It's seafood seven days a week now.

And I couldn't disagree with you more on this one teddys. I think Showboat's "Seafood" buffet is a COMPLETE misnomer. There is OCCASIONALLY some seafood options, none of which is good. I did order the lobster on the side the last time, and it was the most disgusting thing I've ever eaten. It is entirely overpriced, and it would be rare these days to get a comp from them.
I enjoyed the Caesars buffet, and I agree Bally's was pretty good, but it's closed now. Those are really the only places I ate at in AC, but my vote would be to pass on Showboat.
For the record, it was
Play thirty minutes in the casino get a comp buffet.
Even penny slots were eligible.
The buffet was ok, but the days of the great seafood buffet are probably gone...
I spent time at Ballys, Caesars, and Trump plaza on a Friday late night, midnight to 6am. I saw nothing under $10 at ballys,Caesars which are both CET properties. Ballys had 10x odds, I didn't check Caesar's.
I spent all of my craps time at Trump, probably a total of three hours. The dealers were very fast, relatively nice, and only hussled for a tip once in a jokingly way. 5x odds was allowed on the 4,6,8,10 and 6x on the 5,9 if your PL bet was $5. I won $300, $250 of which I wasted on slots and a failed run at the 10x odds. Special thanks to Wong for naming Trump as a place that's known to have lower minimums. I'll have my own opinion on the buffets when I make a real trip next time.
Bus people are evil. I will not take the bus anymore!Quote: ahiromuOur driver got lost and the people sounded like they were about to riot, but we made it only like ten minutes late. I'd recommend this service.
The Caesar's buffet was pretty good, I ended out eating 10 clusters (4-6 legs each) and some dessert. The legs were on the larger side, firm, and not water logged like some places (Muckleshoot in Auburn, Washington). On the other hand, they're douchebags with the placement in the buffet.
They have both cold and warm clusters. The cold ones are spread out nicely so that three people at a time can grab them. On the other hand, there's only one tray of warm ones (which are more popular) and they're noticeably smaller. In addition, the only place to get strained butter is in the same little corner as the warmed up legs. So what ends out happening is that there's a huge line to get both warm legs and strained butter. This line didn't die down until about 45 minutes into the dinner buffet. The desserts were pretty good, but I was too full to really enjoy them.
At Trump Plaza, I played 3.5 hours of craps at $100-$110 (confirmed by asking the pit when I colored). My game consisted of $5 and 5x odds, placing the 6/8 for $30 and mixing in other place/buy bets that would bring me up to $100. I pressed the 6/8 pretty consistently: $30 > $42 > $60. I would take money twice before pressing them together on the third hit.
My theoretical loss according to the Wizard was (48 rolls/hr)*(3.5 hrs)*($100/roll)*(.0158)=$265. I was comped $42 worth of points, or 16% as well as 1/5 of the way to "Executive" which is their first real upgrade. 16% in itself isn't horrific, but what's really bad is that for about 2/3 of the "restaurants" aka fast food it's actually 2 comp dollars for 1 food dollar. Not entirely sure I want to make this my home unless I get free weekend room mailers (unlikely).
I don't think Executive means anything, all of their special lines were for "Chairman" which require 2.5 times more points than Executive.
Oh, and my session loss was $1100. My real loss was $600 because of a $500 hit and run at Caesar's earlier. The dealers at Caesar's were assholes, I didn't get ANY recognition for a $10 toke (nobody else at the table was tipping so it wasn't like mine was worthless). They just took it and places it next to the box man who put it in their toke box.
tl;dr - Caesar's AC buffet is very good if you're into crab legs, albeit a little frustrating. Too early to judge Trump's comp system.

It is truly a shame what has happened to what once were my favorite tables in town.
