So, when I click on the "Top Contributors" I get a database list of everyone who has registered a screen name with the WOV forum, the so-called "Community Members". But that database is sorted alphabetically without any other sorting options.
I would like to be able to sort the Community Members list by the number of posts, or by number of threads started. This would enable a leaderboard of Top Contributors that extends beyond the same old "Top Ten."
If the Community Members database is too lengthy to be easily sorted, can I suggest you compile an abridged version with members who have posted, say, at least 10 posts. On the current all-inclusive list, about 50% of all members have 0 posts and only a small fraction have 10 or more posts.
The list changed last week whey IBYA was knocked out of third place.Quote: gordonm888I noticed recently that Nathan has about 300 more posts than I do. I wondered where I would stand on a leaderboard of "Top Contributors" or "Most Posts." For several years it seems that the same 10 people (EvenBob to rxwine) have been in the same 10 spots on the Top Contributors list (which is displayed when the Forums page comes up).
I wonder how many of those are alter egos, waiting in case those id's are needed? I always wonder when I see an 8-10 year old persona jump in with a 1st post, and tons of board memory.Quote:On the current all-inclusive list, about 50% of all members have 0 posts and only a small fraction have 10 or more posts.

It also changed last month when mission was added.
There are some posters who have relatively few posts but most of them have whole lot of substance.
Most of us are somewhere in the middle with some of each.
To me, a top posters list or worrying about your post count is a waste of time.
If I hadn't decided months ago that no one here is changing their politics based on even the best argument for them to do so and stepped away mostly, I would have a lot more posts...but they would have just been arguments with those who disagree and some who won't believe how I feel even anyway because they have closed their minds.
Now I just stop by now and then...

I, for one, miss you. Maybe you could block the political thread(s) and come enjoy yourself here more often?

According to the Community Statistics list , there’s currently 15,286 members. If we go ahead and disregard strictlyAP sock puppet accounts , that still leaves us at roughly 10,000.
The top 10 may see even more shuffling among them in the near future as Nareed and Mission never post anymore. And I could see Nathan someday charging into that top 10. Maybe she will even catch EvenBob someday

I have more posts than 15,286 members?
And I seldom have anything to say. Oddly
ironic..
Okay, but what are your lucky numbers?Quote: RonCThere are some posters who have thousands of mostly worthless posts here.
