I am a Chairman club member, which is equal to being a Diamond card holder ast CET properties.
My friend is an Executive member, equal to Platinum card at CET casinos.
Neither of us play much slots and stick to table games, BJ for me and 3CP for my friend. My tier score is more than double his.
Yet his offers for the last have 3 months have been more than mine ie. He gets free buffet offers while I get 10 bucks off or his comp/slot dollar offers are double mine(he gets 20 while I Get 10). And now his rooms offered are Any Day comp and mine are Sun-Fri only.
I visit Taj way more than he does, but my only conclusion is he gets better offers because he loses more money than I do. And I have a few big wins this year and he doesn't.
Any reason they would play politics like this and give much better offers to a lower tier player?
This all seems like standard comp problems for BJ players.
If a diamond level player is getting offered less for a higher level of play than a platinum player for several months, wouldn't that suggest politics?
It has happened to me before at Trump plaza and when I called a host to ask why my friend was getting better gift offers, I was told ''Sometimes winning is the best gift''
I fear confronting Taj on the matter would probably cause them to remove all offers from both accounts. But still, it reeks of playing favorites and was just curious if any one else had a similar occurrence?
If you started going less they might offer you more, hoping you to come back.
If you're already going a lot they have less an incentive to offer you.
Speak to a host and tell them your next trip you're going to Borgata or Harrah's because you are unhappy with the level of offers compared to your friends.

Nope. Completely unrelated. Diamond player could potentially have earned diamond 7 or 13 months ago and still be diamond, while having no play to drive current offers. Platinum players semi recent play could be higher and would be generating offers.

This happens with us at CET. I am gold and get comped rooms in AC whenever I want. My wife is platinum and doesn't even get a discount on rooms.

I've had casino staff tell me this very thing about comps. Sometimes going a lot reduces comps. Regardless of other factors. Why comp you stuff, if you are coming in regardless. Comps are primarily an inducement to 1) get you in the building and 2) get you to stay and play more. THEY ARE NOT a "reward" for your loyalty or action, or any of that crap. Despite what the programs say.
Casinos are still in business to make money and are smart enough to look at overall expense to keep a customer compared to expected win. In your case, playing BJ, they can live without you.
Meaning, Taj has reset the tier points to zero.
And they bumped my friend up to Chairman status, even though he was 3000 tier points shy of it.
I know casinos do this from time to time, but this is clearly playing favorites.
They never bumped me to a higher level as a "Courtesy", and it kind of defeats the whole point of earning tier status.

This is your problem.
It's not about playing favorites, its about how to extract the most $$ from each of you.
Your friend needs encouragement, you don't.

So automatically upgrading him to a higher tier level when he is 3000 tier points short is "customary"?
I mean what's next, a free suite with a Hooker and Drugs in it??

Hmmm...in Vegas, that'd be a "good" thing. In AC, they probably just didn't notice the hooker and drugs when they "cleaned" the room after the last guest left:-)
I have a high level and my brother is the lowest level possible... he doesn't go at all for 2 months and gets $50 and $60 FREE PLAYS along with multiple buffets!!! I get $10 free play (and I go up 10x more than him). I called to complain about it and they claim it's off your play (ADT), but he hasn't played in months! So clearly they're trying to get him to "come back" but month after month he has better offers than me even though our statuses aren't even close to one another. It's really frustrating and I thought I had been "no mailed" essentially, but after seeing everyone else with similar problems I know it's just their retarded way of handling comps.

Getting people to come that aren't going to come on their own is quite customary... I'll bet they get a lot more customers with suite offers that have hookers and blow preloaded =P.

I think the other posters have summed it up.
The casinos act like businesses.
Does that really surprise anyone?
If you drop in every week, why try to lure you in with free play?
If they think you'd sort of like to return,
$500 in free play may be just the deciding factor for you.
Again, anyone really surprised?
And if so, why?
