The reason being, the $10's, $20's and $50's cassettes inside the machine is more than likely empty.
They were probably on their way with an emergency fill, you just happened to catch the machine at the worst possible moment :)
EDIT: Luckily the $5's weren't empty too LOL

This has happened to me before. I put the ticket in the machine, it gives me a partial payout, and prints a receipt that I can cash at the cage for the rest.
I actually prefer this to a stack of 5s and singles (I have gotten $200 in 5's before).

It all depends on how the NRT's are set up. Sometimes they do the voucher, sometimes they give you smaller bills, sometimes the machine shuts down and you have to wait for the fill (granted, this rarely happens).
It is up to the Internal Compliance department on how these things are set up and run, including emergency fill procedures and regular fill times.
These times also have to be declared to the gaming board and strictly adhered to, unless it is an emergency in which case the fill can be done and an emal or fax sent to the Gaming board detailing the amount, time and exact reason for the deviation.

See, it isn't just the waitresses who try that trick :)
Always count your money there. One morning I was cashing a ticket and I was shorted about $120 because the tens were switched with twenties. It took ten days to get a check after their investigation.Quote: TomspurThe reason being, the $10's, $20's and $50's cassettes inside the machine is more than likely empty.

THIS +100000
now I take it over to the cage and they think I made money.
Indeed my one complaint is that at some casinos these machines are not easy to find. At the Plaza I walked over much of the casino looking for one before giving up and caching in at the cage. I found one, eventually, near the casino entrance. I never saw another one. I assume there are more, but I didn't see any. In contrast I can find thema t the 4Q easily. In fact I kind of automatically walk towards the nearest one when I'm done playing VP or bubble craps.

So what would you think if the machine refused to pay your Ticket? And also the ticket would not work at any other machine?
Out here in my city they have the machines set up to make your ticket out not cash out if it was the last TICKET in the machine you cashed out at. You have to walk across the whole casino to the cash cage where they will pay you( In a C note if you want) or twenties
this tells them they need to send a slot person over to fill the tickets up in the machine
I hate it when they give me a bunch of $20's...like wtf! Oftentimes when I'm done playing a machine, and say I have $375 left in credits, I'll insert my lower denomination bills to make it an even $400. I swear, after 1 week of playing and always cashing out the exact amount I end up with, I'll end up having $500-1000 in $20's, $10's, $5's, and $1's. Makes it very difficult to count up my money at the end of the day to make sure my money matches with my reported results.
I consolidate my tickets too, sometimes, if I have multiple tickets (ie: found lots of ultimate x's to vulture....makes it easy to insert $100 to the machine, play the hand, cash out. find another multiplier, insert $100...rinse wash repeat, so I know exactly how much I won or lost on each one [since they usually vary in denomination and # of lines). Unfortunately, sometimes that leads me with $2000+ on a single ticket and can't cash it out on those damn ATM machines and have to go to the cage!!
Does anyone know what the upper limit is to cash out a TITO on the ATM machines is? Is it the same for how much you can put into a VP/Slot machine? (I assume it's done partially to make sure you don't zap out 50+ bills on the ATM machine and also to ensure you go to the cage and they file a SAR if it's over $3k.)
Quote: RSDoes anyone know what the upper limit is to cash out a TITO on the ATM machines is?
It's totally dependent upon the casino settings.
Quote: RSIs it the same for how much you can put into a VP/Slot machine?
Definitely not. And also dependent on how the casino set it up.
Quote: IbeatyouracesAs far as I know, $1199.99. Could be lower depending on the casino.
Could have sworn I got $1300 out of them once. I know the slot/video poker machines themselves start printing out your wins after $2k for most, even high limit.

Do they ever use $50's in these, seeing as how they are supposedly bad luck?
Someone came up behind me and took the next $200 in 20's. They saw the person on camera taking the money after talking to security and told me "this has happened before."
They allow you to take out up to $3,000, but it only dispenses $1,200 at a time. It takes about 20 seconds for the second $1,200 to come out. LOL.
I had over $3,000 in black chips there, and the dealers were warning me about folks seeing that much money and what they might do. LOL. I love that place.
I think they only have $8,000 in black on that table.
