e-Craps/sic Bo, e-BJ, e-Roulette, and e-Baccarat

When these came out, you got a w2-G tax form when your winnings PLUS original bet was at least $1200.

Anyone know if that's the case with hybrid e-Games where there's a live dealer?
The supervisor there played stupid and said he doesn't know. (Live dealer e-Games have been around for 2 years at that casino)
Craps is paradise (Pair of dice). Lets hear it for the SpeedCount Mathletes :)

As far as I have seen, In Vegas, no. I get payouts like that all the time on exactly that kind of game (live dealer with real cards, electronic betting) and there is no paperwork, although they still like to play cop with you at the cage when you try to cash out.

The only place I have ever seen it otherwise was at a racino in New York City, where there were real cards being dealt by a robot, and some of the sidebets could pay over $1200. Then you got a slip to take to the cage and they gave you the treatment there.

I think the casinos don’t even know what to do. Maybe it varies by state but I don’t see why it would. I used to play some machine blackjack. So if you were betting $200 and split and doubled and then won that would be a $1200 payout. The machine would lock up and they would come pay you out and give you a W2G. This happened on a craps game too when a 7 out caused everything to win even though the original bets were more than half the payout.

It’s even less clear online. A few years ago I was betting big on baccarat on one site for some reason. They sent me 4 pages of probably 100 W2G’s. I actually had a book give me a few W2G’s for sports bets. I got a $1600 W2G for a $1200 bet. Another was giving a W2G for blackjack payouts over $1200. While at least a few others I’ve gotten payouts over $1200 on blackjack several times but never received one but did for video poker. I thought maybe it had been corrected but I played a site just last week and they gave me 8 W2G’s for blackjack. There was one site where they would give you a w2g on a deposit bonus. So let’s say if you deposited $400 and received a $200 bonus. You then had to playthrough the bonus 100x. Any winnings are added to the bonus amount until the playthrough is met. So if you ran it up to a total of $1800, the bonus would be $1200 when the playthrough was met and then that would turn into withdrawable funds and they would give you a W2G for that.

The worst part is usually these places don’t even tell you when you get one. They don’t mail anything. You have to check your account history. If you don’t do that you have no idea that you even got one.

If you're an advantage player, this can be a good thing when targeting promotions.
