The C,o.P. in Henderson has been sent home and given 21 days to resign or be fired. No details have been released, but she is the third head of the department to be fired since 2018. She was a sergeant when I lived in Henderson, and when she got the top job, I read the department supported her appointment. That wasn't over a year ago, and now she is forced out.
Henderson police have a do-nothing reputation, but they went above and beyond their duty when I needed them.
I'd left some Fed Ex paperwork on my porch to be picked up and someone stole it. Two female officers took my report, and after checking with the neighbors, they told me they thought they might know who had taken it. I explained how important and time-sensitive the papers were.
At 11 PM, I got a knock on my door, and an officer had my FedEx paperwork. They didn't have the suspect, but they went to where he was known to dump his shit and my envelope was there. It'd been ripped open but intact and went out the following day.
Both female officers who responded were sergeants, and both were blonds, as was the Chief who was dismissed. I think she was one of the two who answered.

Remember when that one Las Vegas police Sargent would purposely start fights with people on the strip in order to set them up to get arrested

That was a Metro cop. The Metro PD covers all of Clark County except for Henderson and North Las Vegas. Those two cities have their own departments.

I can tell you that it doesn’t matter because if that kind of shit is happening in your state I’m never coming even close to
The fact that it happened and had to go through the process that it did in order to get him out means you are all fucked
And I’m laughing at your apathy for it right now as I type
If that kind of stuff is able to happen ALL of the police are tainted because they weren’t telling on each other

Former Metro Sergeant sentenced to ten years in prison for various crimes. He was initially arrested for suspicion of instigating fights with people he deemed undesirable on the strip. After his arrest, child pornography was found on several of his devices. He pleaded guilty to several charges.

It's disturbing how many people are into that material and also feel need to walk around with a stash of it on their phones when they are doing something else illegal.
Reminds me of when I was a teen, and reading the local weekly fishwrap. The would have the Police Blotter there where they talk about everyone who got arrested. And week after week there would be several reports of people being arrested during a traffic stop because the cop saw drugs or drug paraphernalia on the seat of their car.
Sounded really dumb to me. Why would anyone go around with that on the seat of their car? I knew kids who did drugs, but being Gen-X we weren't really demonstrative about things and you'd never actually see the drugs or its paraphernalia. And some of these were people I knew. One kid- wait, I know him and I've been in that car, and I couldn't say for a fact that he doesn't do drugs but if he does he must be really good at hiding it because no one suspects that about him. So I doubt very much drugs would be on the seat of his car. After that, it finally struck me what was going on. And I noticed it was a lot of girls' names on these lists. Ugh, that I understand too.
I don't know, it might be the same kind of thing going on. That cop probably had some non-obvious reason for starting those fights, and other cops may well have had a non-obvious reason for flaking him with CP. Very dirty. I avoid cops, security guards, anything like that and deal with them only reluctantly.

If I recall correctly, the Metro Sergeant had started with a small task force and made more arrests than anticipated, allowing him to add hand-picked officers to the mix and guarantee them overtime. At the time he was arrested, a friend of a friend who was a motorcycle cop on the strip spoke highly of him.

Oh yes, cops and overtime. It really can be that simple.
There was a story from New Mexico, the Land of WTF Is Going On Down There, about this. These two cops would arrest a guy and claim they suspected he boofed his drugs, then take him to the emergency room to get a nonconsensual proctoscopy or colon purge to remove them. What the hell would they want to do that for? For the overtime- as it was their arrestee and they had to stay with him, and it would take huge time to both find a doctor willing to do that to a patient who denies boofing anything and the typical wait in emergency rooms for non-life threatening emergencies so they would rack up all of that as OT waiting in ERs.

Most rural New Mexico Police Departments pay $20 an hour for starting patrolmen. I don't understand the system, but after a certain number of years, they become certified and earn $26-30 an hour.
