Blast from the Past.

Wow, this show looks dreadful to me, yet it got coverage in LIFE Magazine in 1959. I wonder how much the management at the New Frontier had to pay to grease those skids. Half Hour Standing Ovation ? C'mon.....

Without smartphones and Youtube, there could be no definitive proof that the standing ovation, in fact, lasted something like thirteen seconds.

Agreed. Hype is Hype, and if that helped 1959 magazine subscribers think they were seeing something special, I doubt anyone on the editorial board cared about anything more than selling more magazines.

It was fun to stumble across an article on the "goings-on" in Vegas.
