Does anyone know how facial recognition programs work as it relates to sharing across the industry in a central platform that all casinos share, or is it casino by casino? eg.. if I play at Oceans, will they know who I am if I am on MGM or Harrahs FR program, and vice versa?

It's not connected or automated.

If they share info it has to be deliberately sent from one property to the other and then entered manually into their FR system

I am not aware of any casino company sharing their facial recognition with any other companies outside theircorporate umbrella.
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.

Interesting topic since face masks will most certainly become commonplace going forward. I only have a lay person knowledge of facial recognition, but am assuming face masks will create a big problem for the technology?

At this year's G2E the folks from Scientific Games were pitching a facial recognition package in which the cameras are built into the gaming tables and slots (i.e., one camera per seat). All the AI and data would be cloud-based (if I remember correctly they were using AWS). With any kind of cloud-based architecture it becomes trivial to share the data between casinos.

I don't think the equipment has been deployed anywhere yet.... it seemed like a future product line that they were trying to get the casinos interested.

It barely works now. I would not be concerned

Especially when everyone is wearing masks

When one card counter gets kicked out of 2 dozen casinos in 1 weekend, they just didn't like his winning ways.
