As far as the re-openings go, is anyone getting any decent offers to return? I'm not.

Cosmo cut off my free-pay (was up to over $100 per month), now they're giving me a lot of room offers instead. One night comped in June and can get 20% off rooms plus $50 per night spa/resort credit about as much as I want. Sahara is giving me one night comped, and only $5 free-play -- never seen anything like that before. Golden Nugget is one free night in July, plus $10 dining credit, with no free-play. Was getting quite a bit from Station's and Boyd, but no available offers right now. I predict the locals casinos are going to have a lot of their "free-gift" days.

I think this might be the new trend. The industry just lost billions, so they don't want to give away more cash in free-play, but they need to get people through the door more than ever. Not expect many dining credits for a while. Buffets all closed, restaurants at 50% capacity are likely to be filled with people paying cash.

TomG, You are in Vegas right and use a local address?

What you are describing sounds like what casinos do to out of town accounts, load them up with free rooms rather than FP. I hope that isn't the new trend. Although I am really getting away from machine play and relying on offers anyway. My blackjack play is almost all unrated, except for 1 location.

Absolutely. But what happens when one person wants to do something that interferes with what another person wants to do?

For example: I want to drink clean water. But someone else wants to dump toxic waste into Lake Mead. Who gets to do what they want?

I don't see the dilema. If the water isn't clean don't drink it. You are making the choice to only drink clean water. If you can't find clean water your position will change or you will die. Completely your choice.

MGM now says they’ll reopen Excalibur on June 11th.

Bellagio, MGM Grand, and NYNY open tomorrow.

Sahara was an out of state address, the others local.

Just got my Station's offers. As I expected, free-gifts and no dining comps. Also seem to be a lot of point-multipliers, which is another good way to get people in the door. Free-play is overall about the same, maybe even a little higher, but more spread out. Between all that, they're offering something to get me in the door 20 out of the 27 days in June. Still no offers from Boyd.

I got my offers from Boyd yesterday. It was different than usual in that it was from one single property (Gold Coast) rather than the chain of 7. I play minimally at Boyd, usually 3 properties and was near the bottom of my cycle, so the FP offers are pretty small.

I got the same as you from Stations. FP, actually a little higher than my march offers (mid cycle), but no food offers, but lots of 10x multipliers.

My situation with Stations actually is pissing me off a little. I have cut down my machine play in the last several years going back to my blackjack roots. And I play blackjack unrated. So I have just a handful of properties that I still cycle through machine play to generate offers, FP and food. The stations chain is one of those.

Because I don't play BJ rated, my stations tier level dropped to nothing the past couple years (platinum or gray or whatever). So this year, I decided to hit President. I did that in a single multiplier day in January, which would keep that level through the end of the year, almost a whole year. The benefit I wanted was the 1/2 buffets anytime using points and if you happened to have a coupon, you get that on top for 1/4 price using points. And the points I earned generating that President level on the multiplier day would cover the half price for 3-4 buffets a week for the entire year.

So obviously I lost that benefit (buffets) for the last 3 months and it doesn't look like buffets are coming back any time soon, so I got screwed out of that plan. lol

Some casinos like El Cortez and Stations and I suspect other downtown casinos were scheduled for re-opening at 12:01 am (just after midnight tonight).

Just got an email from El Cortez pushing back to 8am Thursday. They didn't cite a reason, but undoubtedly the continuing protests that seem more problematic at night. Not sure what the others are doing.

Doesn't effect me as I abandoned my plans to head out tonight several days ago. I'll get a good start in the morning.

I gotta say, I feel a little bit like a school kid going back to school. I got a haircut today, just showered and shaved. I have my cloths for tomorrow all laid out. Bottle of water currently in the freezer. Going to bed fairly early. I am all ready to go and excited about it. Excited to see this new world of Las Vegas that awaits us, hopefully with some new opportunities.

One thing that is screwed up is my chip inventory. I cashed a lot of chips in during that last week before the shutdown. Didn't want to be stuck holding 10's of thousands in chips. Probably a good thing. I am guessing casinos may have new or at least cleaned chips and wouldn't appreciate me sitting down with a handful of old dirty chips. The whole concept of a chip inventory, and the advantages of that, might be out the window for a while in this new world. We'll see.

One of the possible reasons for not allowing all patrons in right away is to ensure the "select" players get preferential treatment and priority. They are probably allowed to play a day or two earlier than everyone else and in some cases are let in several hours before, which is why your notice for entrance was delayed.

Be careful. I remember when Hurricane Katrina hit Biloxi and you could not cash chips in for 12 months.
