Quote: Cappo1For now, no, but we'll see. We usually go together to the casino but we have been on two roadtrips in 3 weeks and now she had to go on this emergency trip. She's pretty pooped will be back tomorrow late. We'll see..
You sir, are a good future son in law. You put your future mother in law's needs before your own pleasures. We had a cousin who buried her mother(my aunt) 2 days prior at a club dancing. It shocked us. She JUST buried her Mom and was already dancing in some random club. My mother said,"Her bizarre club behavior so soon after her mom's funeral makes it seem like she never really cared about her Mom." You are already respecting your future mother in law light years better than my cousin did to her mom.

thanks for being honest - considering everything that had to be hard to report
are you going to give it another go?
P.S. I think people on this board are a little hard on "amateurs"/"poppies". Not everyone has played 10,000 hrs of BJ...and has a long-term perspective. For an amateur, 20 hrs BJ might be a lot, and that's not enough to see skill overcome variance (or conversely, table odds overcoming sheer luck).Quote: Cappo1Got my ass handed to me... gotta wake up in 4 hours. Money management can work for a while if you are lucky.
What it does do is stretch out losing patches so you stop playing a lot.
So you might have 10 winning trips, which span a couple years.
In the long run though (at least 40 hrs of play...and probably more like 1000-2000 hrs), you will probably have 50-60% winning sessions & 40-50% losing sessions.
I believe with a computer giving perfect advice based on all cards seen, 80% winning sessions was possible.

Sometimes what I do on a losing game (e.g. 80-99% return), if I get lucky and get ahead $500-$5,000...
Then I shift into safety mode, with aggressive money management, and might be able able to play the same losing game for 3-12+ months.
"Reverse martingale" (Press when winning) can be useful to increase chances of a big win, while maximizing number of attempts.
The overall percentage return is still the same, but it shifts the payouts.
1-2-3-4-5-5-5
Aggressive: 1-3-2-4-5-5-5, 1-3-7-15-7-15-15, etc...
Cold: 1-1-2-2-3-3-4-5-5-5, 1-1-2-3-2-4-5-5
P.S. I've had some of my best blackjack wins on "reverse martingale presses" on negative counts. :-)
All you need is a helpful dealer who busts 12-18 times in a row.
...also if the count keeps getting worse, it's because high cards are coming out.
