So, I nominate the WIZ or MISSION146 to go and write an article about the experience.
- How did you get tickets ?
- How Much ?
- Best Band / Performance ? Guessing it will be U2.
- Level of griping about paid parking ?

I am groveling! I am too cheap to pay for tickets, I have no connections and am not worthy of comps of this type of stuff, so I am basically begging right here for tickets!
OR if this works, the MOST boring part of the article.Quote: RonCso I am basically begging right here for tickets!

While it could be very boring if someone writes here in the thread that they will give me tickets with no backstory...but if an AP gives them to me and wants nothing reported that would give away their identity, it could be a little interesting...
I am surprised to see U2 and Billy Idol in the lineup; I-Heart radio focuses on top 40 youngster's bands, and U2 and Idol are not hitting that demographic at all.
Also tickets on Stubhub starting at $245. Not exactly the Super Bowl when it comes to ticket price.
Quote: MrVWhat would be VERY interesting is to have you go backstage and ask Drake's crew if they'd be interested in buying back a few million dollars worth of jewelry, at "a substantial discount."

Actually it covers country and every type music. Ads all over country stations in the Deep South.

I had no idea they had that much value. My Total Rewards account has an offer listed for two free tickets for either day of the concert. I wasn't planning on picking them up but now I might have to.

Obviously you understand offer value vs playing/ not playing compared to potential future offers. This may be a tough one to calculate, but Stubhub values tend to drop closer to event. Also getting rid of physical tickets can be even harder. Value at event time is usually half or less.
Jimmy Buffett tickets when he used to sell out MGM and play 2 sold out shows were over $200 each on SH but night of show I always bought 2 for $100. Just look for the fan stuck with extras from a friend who didn't come and tell them the scalpers are offering $25 each. They were offered $10 so they will take the hit to get rid of them.
Also works for most fights....PS don't see Floyd vs Manny. That was crazy and all all common sense went out the door. Once in a lifetime event.

Pick them up and sell them to me for $1 a piece; I will file a full report!! Make sure they are for the real event and not the cheesy outdoor thing...
Beggars can be choosers!!!
That's kinda rude. I'm not sure if you were kinda sorta directing that the Wizard regarding GE2 tickets.Quote: JohnnyQBut but but foraging / scrounging /groveling for tickets might be the best part of the story !
But what's what's wrong with asking for tickets, especially when lots of people here get lots of free stuff that oftentimes just goes to wast?
That's kinda a thing with gamblers and AP's, they often share, trade and give away free tickets, comps and rooms etc.
IMO there should be some kinda comp, tickets and hotel exchange, trade and for sale program. Thousands a year just get wasted.
Nope, no rudeness intended, you must be reading between the wrong lines.Quote: AxelWolfThat's kinda rude. I'm not sure if you were kinda sorta directing that the Wizard regarding GE2 tickets.
I just thought it would be interesting to hear about how someone got tix, ie on-line, outside the venue from someone with extra tix, or whatever. I get college football tix on-line at a resale site because I know from that exactly what section and row the ticket will be in, which is important to me.
Nothing wrong with asking for tickets, I just thought it would be more interesting if the process was a little more convoluted and was described in an article.Quote: AxelWolfBut what's what's wrong with asking for tickets, especially when lots of people here get lots of free stuff that oftentimes just goes to wast?

I just checked and apparently I am too late. I need to start paying more attention to offers even if I don't plan on using them.
The day of the event I would expect more the 75-100 per ticket and prolly not worth getting tagged with a trip from it
Quote: WizardofnothingDrich, I don't think they were a high end offer as even some of my guys that don't play much got that offer- since you can't pick them up till

I didn't assume it was a high end offer because my status with Total Rewards has been pretty much erased. I have been abusing it the last six months or so with almost no play except free play.
I'm getting old and lazy and probably wouldn't even pick them up unless I thought I could get a big amount. I rarely fight the strip traffic on the weekends.
