Perhaps this one is more appropriate though?

So, step 1 is to ask a question with an easily obtained answer because you were too lazy to look it up and step 2 is to insult this site's creator and administrator? That's a good plan you've drafted there...

If you want to flog your flag, do it on your own time :-)

Seriously? I frequent this forum and I don't even remember what happened to KewlJ. Now I'm curious, but not enough to spend time searching through the suspension discussion threads. I admit that it does seem a little suspicious that someone who signed up two years ago would make their first post asking about a certain member, and understand that the member would come under scrutiny. However, for Wizard to make that reply, I'm honestly not surprised by the OP's response. For Wizard to take it as a personal insult and issue a three-day suspension -- well, I understand this is a democracy, but that is ridiculous.

I'm not that big on the Wizard's initial response either because it is a good question for those who don't know the answer. Any lurker that took a break from the forum might have missed what happened (which he maybe was). Heck, I am still a little baffled by it because I don't read everything like I used to and definitely don't keep up with the suspension list all the time. Regardless, bluechow shouldn't have immediately told off the person who was the driving force behind this site!
I don't really read other forums so I'm not sure if he has an online presence somewhere else or if there are none left for him, but out of sight out of mind.
Norm seems to have lost interest here too.

I normally agree with everything you post but this is the exception. If someone cares enough to ask then they should care enough to click his name and do a little research. Them his response to Mike was in bad taste. IMO

He got what he came for. Maybe it didn't start that way. maybe Kewlj pushed his buttons. Make no mistake, though, he got what he came for and had enough friends in high places to make it work.
Some may say out of sight, out of mind...others don't think that at all. I think the place is lesser with QFIT here and Kewlj gone.
But I don't know the whole story, just what was posted here.

At least QFIT isn't really "here".

When you consider what Norm has contributed here,
basically nothing, and what Kewlj contributed, what
happened is a travesty for the forum. But who cares,
this place is a shadow of what it once was anyway.

EB I really enjoy you showing up every couple of weeks to let everyone know that you think his place has gone to crap. If you don't like WoV anymore just stop showing up. We get it you don't enjoy it anymore, well guess what I don't think anyone enjoys your great commentary either.
I personally was very sad to see KewlJ go as he was a great contributor. Although I am happy QFIT has finally left and is leaving us alone. Now I only wish he would take EB with him.

If that had happened would you have changed your signature to Wizardofsomething? :)

+2. You'd think QFIT threatening frivolous lawsuits for "copyright violations" might have turned things around. I don't dig it when someone does that to me.
To answer the OP, this is the best I can surmise. QFit/Norm is some "famous" blackjack writer who has a website and forum. He evidently believes that criticism of the way he does business is a "personal attack." KewlJ believes that Norm is negligent in allowing guys who promote bad advice to do so on his forum. From what I can gather, KewlJ very likely went overboard on his criticisms elsewhere, but not here. He did express intense personal animosity, but I only saw it quoted from other places. KewlJ seems to have suggested in other places that Norm was profiting off the bad advice, and Norm denies this (credibly IMO). But, on the other hand, in KewlJ's mind people are passing out demonstrably terrible advice that could really put someone's whole life on the wrong track.
Norm reached out to The Wiz to silence KJ's "personal attacks," which, it became clear via his interactions with others here, includes most criticism of him as a public figure. A "truce" was arrived at, which consisted of KJ not being able to talk about QFit and QFit giving up nothing, since he doesn't really post here. The subject of QFit's site came up and KJ felt compelled to give his seemingly honest opinion, which is that newbs in particular should avoid the site because there is a lot of very bad advice there. This violated the truce, and KJ was banned. KJ obviously knew he was violating the truce when he did it.
Norm/QFit got what he wanted, the forum lost perhaps it's most valuable contributor. Norm made further suggestions of "personal attacks" by other members, (including me) that should be reprimanded, but was fortunately ignored. He implied that he might sue The Wiz because I screencapped a sports betting tout from his site and quoted some stuff. Then he left, mission accomplished.
That's what I saw anyway. Initially, like the OP, I was just like, "WTF happened to KewlJ?" It took me a long time to piece it together, and maybe OP doesn't want to or can't do that.

PG, we have not met, as far as I know. Just as KewlJ helped make the site what it was/is, EB has done the same. He's been like the green parsley on the side of a really good entree at a nice restaurant. You aren't expected to eat the damn thing, but the color adds to the overall experience. Don't tell EB I said this, he has me blocked so he will not see it, but the site would be poorer without him. The entree needs the inedible parsley, it's a color thing. Ask your wife, or your sister ;-)
+1 Thanks for answering OP's question with great detail. Having no evidence to the contrary, I have to assume his was a legitimate question. But others may know something I don't.Quote: Rigondeaux...
I did think it odd that he has been a member for 2+ years and hadn't posted until now. But then I thought of my own status over at DT. I occasionally lurk over there, but have never posted. I ended up making an account there so that when I click on a thread, it takes me to the first unread post. If you are not signed in, it automatically takes you to post #1 every time.
If in a year or two, if I wander over to DT, and notice that, say, Fr. G. is gone, I may want to ask why.
However, OP could have been more respectful to the Wiz. Like Blount2000's meme said -- mess with the bull, you might get the horns.

Lol 2F I like your analogy because it works well with me. I am the guy who gets his steak and says what's with this decorative crap that has no real function. EB at one time was a contributing member with value but has ceased to post anything of relevance. Just cause he once meant something to this site doesn't mean he still has any value.
Surely that counts for something?

I value EvenBob as a positive. Occasionally I still like what he writes. Some people have dumped on him regularly for a long time, no doubt that gets old. I've picked on him myself, but always (almost) jokingly. I almost like him, don't tell him, he wont see, he has me blocked ;-)Quote: PokerGrinderLol 2F I like your analogy because it works well with me. So he participates by saying it isn't the same and he isn't around as much and you dump on him for being honest?
The forum isn't the same and A LOT of people aren't around any more. People whining about every tiny perceived insult, people coming here and seeing an opening to get rid of an internet enemy, etc. have reduced the quantity and quality of the discussions. If you don't like someone, just block them. Or not. Ignore them without blocking. Whatever. I don't like everything EB says and he won't give me is roulette method, but I'm also tired of the people who seem to like judging the value to the forum of various members.
Maybe he is hoping things will turn around and the forum will get better than it is right now.
Maybe he isn't.
When Zoog, The Wizard and company changed the site over to this format, they asked for members to help point out ways to improve the new board, with observations and opinions.Quote: PokerGrinderIt does but he constantly complains how bad the forum is. Bob is one of the few still trying to help.
Maybe I am a minority of posters who "get" Bobs posts, I can always see what he is saying, and agree with most of it.
I see, to often a small cadre wants to pile on, like in school. The same thing ran the women out of here, the "good boys club", so as members are censured, they lose interest and membership and participation declines.
Be careful what you wish for.
