Quote: AxelWolfDid you guys check out the super secret hidden casino area?
that sounds like a job for Agent 146!
Quote: AhighI went twice last night. I was told about the secret room twice. I went zero times. I am assuming there are no craps tables in the secret room, though, or I would have gone.
A secret room discussed on a public online forum.
hmm.
Is this room really a secret :-)
What is the sculpture in the valet area supposed to be? It reminds me of: The "Stay Puft Marshmallow Man".
Perhaps sometime in the future?
Quote: TomspurNot really a secret casino, just a casino marketed as part and parcel of Bazaar meat. No craps unfortunately no.
Perhaps sometime in the future?
I thought it was the dealer's break room, only difference is they have to pretend they are at the pit.
I hit quads at UTH, luckily not 4 aces or a low 4 that would have ruined my "Rob Singer ultimate system" of saving premium 4oaks for DDB.
It would be really interesting if you were able to talk a bit about the opening and offerings they have.

You know, I don't exactly know what types of promo's they are currently running for the Code and I haven't seen as many giveaways as I would like to have seen. I think the reason is (and I'm spit balling here) is that they are waiting for the Labor day weekend to pass by and then start rolling out their opening promotions......
Again, I'm not sure how accurate my assessment is. If I find out something more, I will gladly share the info with this board.

The automatic $30 food comp on your birthday is a nice touch. They certainly seem to have some birthday-worthy places to eat. And I'm sure they are all places where you'd be happy for something to soften the blow.
The "secret casino" really does look cool. Very Low lit, cool lounge atmosphere with a non gaming bar, lots of lounge couch seating. Defiantly MY idea of what a High limit room should look like. 6 to 8 tables of witch 2 BJ games were open and one 6 to 5, 21 game. 10 min and various maximums. A non gaming bar. Last night, no one was playing. The Pit boss was really selling us to sit down and play, "why put off till later what you can do now.", he said and some other encouraging things. He was a nice funny guy but looked and seemed sharp. I actually felt guilty for not sitting down. The guy needs a raise. I'd want him working in my casino. Conditions were sketchy and not visible everything I asked the dealer they seemed just say yes. Couldn't stay and verify anything.Quote: beachbumbabsTomspur,

Lots of hookers. At least they were dressed like hookers.
pics? :)
Yes, I'm sure the $25 BP progressive is 30 for all quads. And I'm aware of the other BP paytable that pays 35 for all quads.Quote: DRichAre you sure the quads were not 35? There is a Bonus Poker pay schedule with quads at 35 that pays 99.66%.

Beings without souls do not show up on cameras :(
Aha, then that means the cell pics I (discretely?) snapped when playing the old Las Vegas game of "Hooker or Tourist?" on Halloweens past were all soulful young ladies, whether they got their ho on locally or at the Gap with daddy's AMEX card in a mall in Santa Barbara. It can be hard to tell sometimes. Especially Halloween, when for some reason I don't understand it is particularly fashionable on that holiday for some SoCal college gals to come dressed as a "professional girl." Meaning a strand of dental floss that can probably be mailed on a postcard for $0.34. Look for sensible shoes. I understand walking about is in the job description, if working.Quote: djatcBeings without souls do not show up on cameras :(

Actually its well organized with some cool acts (fire breathing etc) its more like a show, all kinds of normal people go. My GF's Friends invite us every year some pimp n ho ball. We attended one time. I would go back but We usually try to do something different each year, my GF loves Halloween and dressing up. I don't mind sometimes. The ball probably gets better each year. I'm not into the big club scenes and big parties anymore.Quote: AxiomOfChoiceI'm not clicking that
If you don't like crazy crowds then its better to stay away. LOTS of hot girls. At least the look look girls, check first.
You may get a kick out of the credits.
BTW small casino costume contests are +EV. Laughlin had a few in years past that paid off.

i didn't say I wouldn't go, just that I wouldn't click it. Especially since I'm at work.
*It is also right smack dab in the middle of the two days of Breeders' Cup events, and I might be too busy to go around to do much of the annual "Hooker or Tourist?" game.

I went to that once about 10 years ago. I was a member of the Foundation Room and they gave away tickets when it was held at Mandalay Bay. The outfits on the women were fantastic. Great people watching.
This is going to be awesome.
No way. I didn't feel like meeting Tomspur after a backroom pow-wow . Ace If the rules are to your liking, I think you will love it. I heard they are already treating low level players well. Since your a fair level player, I assume you will get the red carpet treatment.Quote: aceofspadesPics of the "secret casino"?
After a bit more looking, I noticed more interesting restaurants and they sure smelled good, I cant wait.

I can't remember where I read this or heard this but the pros wanna look like school girls and the school girls want to look like pros. I prefer to school girl look without paying for it.
I think there's a lot to that kind of saying. It seems from what I see around that "naughty little girl" is a fashionable look with twenty-somethings, at least on their trips to Las Vegas, especially on certain holidays & events. And that pros want to be presentable on the arm of a wallet, er, make that a distinguished gentleman.Quote: djatcI can't remember where I read this or heard this but the pros wanna look like school girls and the school girls want to look like pros. I have a friend in town who was what you might tactfully call an "adult entertainer" except when hearing from her mom back in Michigan, at which time she said she preferred the term "library clerk." And no, not THAT kind of "friend with benefits" type thing at all, just a good female pal who is a very bright woman who felt comfortable telling me about what she use to do after we were acquainted for a while. All the facets of "adult entertainment" type stuff are so large in the Las Vegas area that they are not so unusual as in other places, including one who was publicly open about how she paid for law school and is now an elected municipal judge in the suburb of Henderson. Anyways, my friend the former "freelance entertainer" has graciously indulged my curiosity about that former occupation at times and clued me in about some aspects of her old shop-talk from her former line of work, including the business about sensible shoes, and about being less outrageously attention getting than some young tourists to better blend in at the upper middle-class and above type places she use to work in.
She'd have been way too conservative for the ball. I've looked now. I hope I haven't steered the thread on this place's opening somewhere I shouldn't have.
The response was quickly, "absolutely not."
I took a few more photos from the inside of the casino as well. I might share if there is interest.
The boxman who took my id to make me a card, gave my ID back and said, "welcome Ahigh." I looked at him, and he said, "I know who you are."
First time I got that anywhere from someone I have never seen before. I had a great time.
Judging by this one, I'd find the photos interesting.Quote: AhighI took a few more photos from the inside of the casino as well. I might share if there is interest.
And spiffy looking. They sure did scrub the Sahara off it.

He was 100% service and made me feel like a somebody.
Yesterday at my #1 casino Silverton I was denied a food comp by Vince when asking to treat Steve to Johnny rockets and I felt like a nobody.
I will go back to SLS. They are doing great IMO entertaining me.

He reads the forum here is all, Bob. Nobody had a single problem.
I would think they know who he is from the DI stuff, I doubt they care about that. They know he spends money, they are willing to take it. I have a feeling they know he has a reputation of being controversial and possibly confrontational regarding staff/rules and they have him on a short leash.Quote: EvenBobWhen you're flagged in the system, you are are

Yes I know who he is but I treat all the customers the same, fairly and with dignity......and I will continue to do so!
The fact that AHigh or anybody else posts on here doesn't mean they don't deserve to be treated well until they try some funny business but so far.....absolutely no funny business from AHigh at all.
Good to meet you buddy!
Quote: TomspurHaven't really been around much so this is the first of this thread I have seen.
There is a tremendous lack of customer service currently doing the rounds in Vegas. I have recently had an issue with a craps dealer AND more recently with a car salesman that had my blood boiling.
My wife and I went in to purchase a new Audi and the regional sales manager basically made it sound like he was doing us a favor.........
I'm sorry you got treated poorly at Cosmo as it is really a great property for everything other than gaming. The restaurants are top class and the entertainment solid. Pity that Vegas nocturne (the show in Rose Rabbit Lie) will be closing as blackstone don't feel it is a good offering for their newly acquired property.
The more I tell people, the less they listen to me. Customer Service isn't an important part, it is THE MOST important part of any service industry operation.
Hope you give them another chance and post more pics of your gf staring at the strip :)
Oh yeah red bull in a can. No hassles for weird bets.

Quote: Zcore13I'm pretty sure him mentioning he knew of you was not because of your craps abilities. I'm guessing you'll be on a very short leash there. But if you want to call that customer service, more power to you.
Why don't you ask him (Tomspur) yourself, then. I think he just knew me from this forum and chatted me up for a bit is all.

You might learn a thing or two about how to treat people with respect and dignity from him if you saw the opportunity to learn instead of being set in your ways.
If you ever get a craps table in that casino of yours, I might just hop on a plane and come visit you and compare and contrast your casino to the SLS.
Any guess which one I would prefer?

First of all, it would be a wasted trip. You are not welcome at table games at any Casino I ever work at.
Second, I know plenty about how Staff interacts with Customers. Its very common to use someone's name or nickname or alias when that person doesn't suspect recognition. Its a way to let the person know you are aware of them. It almost always helps keep the things the person is known for doing to a minimum.
I'm sure it is a very nice place and your antics will not be tolerated there.

Here's a photo from the SLS craps pit. This is two of their five tables.

Wow. I've got more vacation time I can use than that. That's big of you though. Maybe you can bump it up if your company stock ever goes higher than $0.07.

We both know buddy. Bring it up if you want to accept the challenge. Otherwise just admit it. Your staying where you are.

Yes I am staying where I am. Great town, excellent pay, no cost health insurance, 401k matching, more vacation time than I could ever use, booming table games business, new casino, offers to speak at national gaming conventions. Yup. Doing just fine here.

I have no doubt Ahigh normally conducts himself properly. And for now, everyone in on their best behavior. I'm just wondering if Ahigh sometimes gets to comfortable at casinos and starts pushing lines. I'm not saying he does this, he acted properly the few times I watched him. However, roomers have it, he can get a little difficult. Eventually someone is going to have a bad day.Quote: TomspurYes I know who he is but I treat all the customers the same, fairly and with dignity......and I will continue to do so!
