Thank you for all the kind words.

I hope you guys had a good time today. I'm eager to hear more about it.

I'm hoping to return home Tuesday morning, after my brother in Michigan comes down. If there are any stragglers who would be up for a mid-week lunch let me know. Maybe to check out the new casino where the Barbary Coast used to be.

Whose ready for some hiking?! I'll prob be there by 9:45. I'll be wearing a white T-shirt, black shorts, and white sneakers. I'm tall and have short blondish/brown hair.

Turn right onto calico basin road. Its before the entrance to red rock canyon. Don't go into the first parking lot that's paved but instead turn right. Then take a left at the next road. Then take a right at the next road. And when you get to the end you will see a gravel parking lot. Pull in there.

Even a big mouth like me is speechless at your loss. All I can say is take care of Mom but you are already doing that.

So, Mike and others, the WoV lunch was at noon at the BrewPub in Main Street Station. Attendees were AcesandEights, RDW4potus, Mr.V, SooPoo and the lovely ex-Mrs.SooPoo, Konbu,Doc and the lovely Mrs. Doc, AHigh and little Ahigh, Nareed, DRich, and yours truly, for a very fun party of 13. The BrewPub had one big table all ready for us and gave us good service. People had pizza, burgers, Korean tacos, salad-in-a-bowl, and other things; most had soda but a couple of us tried the house draft; everyone appeared to enjoy their lunches.

We opened the lunch with a toast by SooPoo to the memory of Mike's Dad and missing friends, then discussion ranged from jobs to gambling to hiking to funny stories. After lunch, I conducted the trivia contest; pens were at a premium but a couple of people were kind enough to share, so we managed. However, lots of blank answers; this year's trivia was much harder than the September contest, all agreed. The winner was Aces&Eights, with 8 correct; tiebreaker was not needed. My tablet software does not permit paste that I've found, so perhaps Mike will post the Q and A 's for the forum's amusement, or once I'm home Friday I will put it up in the thread.

We then went looking for craps. SooPoo and A&8 found a quick PGP table while the rest of us sorted it out; turned out the 2 very full craps tables were it for the afternoon; the third would not be opened until that evening. However, they invited us to step next door to the California, where they had 8 craps tables running. We lost a couple of folks to other commitments but the rest made the trip, where we found 7 1/2 very full craps tables. Turns out this is the weekend for the legendary Golden Arm tournament (taking place today) so everyone was in town warming up for it.

We took over the mostly vacant end of the last tub, a 10 dollar table. And, after a slow but promising start, proceeded to make a run for the ages. Konbu had a 29 hand, followed by SooPoo with a 29 hand, and rdw with a 14 hand. Doc had previously had a hand around 15 also, Mr. V shot well; Aces did not have any great runs but was there for the money runs. Nareed and I did not shoot. Everybody that was shooting walked away with hundreds more than they came in for. Literally. I made 300, and I was the least bettor of all of us; it was fantastic dice!

We had a happy trails parting around 4, with possible plans to meet back up today at the Rio for PGP or craps again; we'll see how that plays out. Great to meet everybody. We missed you, Mike; thanks for setting up the event, and our thoughts were with you; we gave your dad credit for the good runs.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

Congrats on the win. It was a good time to not follow the odds and play the Darkside! I hope to be in town for one of these events sometime as I just missed it this time by 2 weeks.

Missing friends? Did I miss something?

Mike, my condolences.

Cool! WoV events are two-in-a-row on great Craps sessions! We'll see if WoV East 2014 II can make it three at the end of the Summer.

Mike: Just read through this thread on a lark, since I won't be back to LV until July. I am so sorry to hear about your Dad. My thoughts are with you and your family and your Mom.
