I received good news today that I just have the desire to share. After 2 surgeries already this year to remove melanoma tumors, I am currently in the clear. Nearby glands and nodes are clear, which means the cancer had not spread beyond the nearby tissue of the tumors which were removed, so I should be good to go. Of course, I will have to be checked regularly for re-occurance.
For what it's worth, my issue did not stem from living in Vegas. I haven't lived here long enough. Most likely, my youth in Daytona, Fl where I literally spend most of the summer days on my surfboard and spent months without a shirt were to blame. But a good time to remind everyone to be liberal with the sunblock when visiting or living here in Vegas. :-)

My dad drove a cab for years until he got cataracts on his eyes. Then he worked in a grocery store. He would often see other drivers at the race track over the years. Many conversation would be, Bill, my wife left me. Or my kid is in jail and all my money goes to his lawyer, etc.
Dad would listen then say, " Hey, you got your health. Why the f***
worry about that other stuff "

Good job catching it early.......knew of somebody that didn't catch the melanoma early and checked out shortly after diagnosis. Enjoy your health.
