Quote: EvenBobIt's hustling more than it is AP.
Hustling: Making money any way you can when opportunities present themselves.
Hustling is undependable and it's a young
mans game. It gets tiring not knowing
where your next money is coming from.
At least you get a steady income when
you deliver Chinese food.
Maybe it has something to do with what Fast Eddie Felson said in the Color of Money
" Money won is twice as sweet as money earned."
We should probably send the hosts at that casino a gift basket lol

I do exactly what you're describing too, just over longer timeframes. I've developed a niche and hard-to-replicate set of experiences and rely upon them for my livelihood. I call myself a consultant, not a hustler, but the entrepreneurial nature of both endeavors is similar. The difference between me and an AP is that most of the time my bankroll isn't at risk -- I get an hourly rate when I'm working on client projects. And when I do put my bankroll at risk, as I do with investments in intellectual property, I'm looking for greater than a 10x return, not just a few percentage points. But the differences between AP and short-term trading the equity/options markets are not so great.
I've had full time employment in the past. I'm happier working for myself despite the variance in monthly income. Some people can't deal with it but for me it's better than the alternative. For someone who is similarly comfortable with income variance, if their average hourly rate is at least in the $25 range they may be better off "hustling" short-term AP plays than delivering Chinese food.
When I refer to hustlers in the AP business, most pros know what i'm taking about.Quote: EvenBobIt's hustling more than it is AP.

It's usually guys that only do stuff like UX , slot bonus hunting, small match plays. Generally they stick to vulture type plays. They usually live day to day and spend most of what they earn that day. Rarely will you see them on any good promotions, progressives,Full-pay VP, drawings etc.
The Asian group I was talking about fell into some good stuff with a fairly good hourly (probably 5x-10x what they make as a Chinese delivery person. They attempted to advance as different plays started disappearing, but they obviously failed.
Most good AP's can estimate how much they will make over a years time and bring in earnings fairly consistently Depending on what levels and plays they get into.

The full timers I see usually blow their winning in other machines and are generally losing money. There just isn't any good progressives, drawing and definitely no full pay machines around here. There are some that are close though.

I don't think you should feel bad at all about posting this. Actually this is an amazing offer that is open to the public. It is obvious to people in the know that you have slight risk but the upside is worth it. It is pretty tough to break into these teams in Vegas though. Obviously, Axel is not going to put a player on a play by himself with x amount of dollars. This person is always going to be with other players watching him like a hawk! These people are going to know right from the jump if he can play fast and mistake free for long periods of time. In Vegas these days you usually have to do some driving around to all the promo days and free play days and drawing days but the hourly will add up pretty good. Now if a player can run multiple cards and not get caught by the casino it gets better. Anyways, my point is that its a good deal. I would only worry about a smart guy gaining trust and waiting for the big steal but once you do that its over for you in these circles.
Actually it is better to work together and share info because if your going to just play on your own like I usually do you will be very limited and miss out on many big plays. The one thing nice about this offer is that you can play higher variance plays with no risk as long as you stay true to your word.
I would do this work and not worry about how much you get paid. The contacts and future info is worth more in the long run. Having 20 or 30 friends scouting all the time and calling you when they find something is invaluable!
