I'm Jonesing for it. Full reports are expected..
It scares me just looking at it.
Well, I suppose I should rev up the super cycle, put my crash helmet on and get ready to make my trip reports so you can all see if I survive or break my neck...
Quote: BozNice to see you admit they have issues paying the bills. But all that stuff aside, I do like your reports and enjoy reading them. I won't be back down until mid Feb, but would love to meet up sometime and play some BJ at Bally's, Caesars or even Revel.
Let's do Bally's!
Bob, you in?

I live in MI, its doubtful. If you were even talking
about me..
Quote: EvenBobDo they still have that long high escalator at the Revel?
It scares me just looking at it.
there's some elevators right next to it that are even faster

Yes Bob - was inviting you
In other news, Ace is depressed :(

OK, I'll bite. Are you at the casino? Did you go onto
the casino floor without your pants again? Try and
wake up completely before you leave your room..

No I am not in AC yet Bob - just depressed about certain things going on in my life. Just thought I would throw that out there so you could add to your interest in me playing this weekend (as you already liken me to a daredevil)
Quote: BuzzardScrew AC Ace. Straighten your personal life out !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MIght as well go all in!
Quote: BuzzardSeriously, you can always win or lose money. No big deal. Mistakes you make with family or friends have real consequences.
My issues don't affect family/friends, they are my
own personal issues with health, business and,
of course, finances
Bob should love the extra bonuses of all this
weighing on me, as he stated a couple of weeks
ago that people are interested in my trip reports
because I am a trainwreck or Evel Knieval-esque.

I'm at a loss
Quote: aceofspadesI'm at a loss
None of us, not even Bob or the Wiz, are leaving this veil of tears alive.
Quote: BuzzardWho says disaster and reality and on different paths? Many gamblers have a death wish that is very macabre. Pinball machines reset and are ready for the next game. Not always so for gamblers who go on TILT.
I anticipated that retort and almost addressed it
in my original post. However, I figured that the
implication was there that real meant "genuine
interest other than macabre"-sort of an "on Ace's
side" type thing
Quote: BuzzardHey, had a close friend who was counting down to retirement. Was at 112 last time I saw him. Well, did see him again at his funeral. Never made it to double digits. Suicide.
112?
Quote: aceofspadesI'm at a loss
I'm joking. Windows in newer casino hotels don't
open, for a reason. If you feel bad about finances,
don't go.
My father worked at Bally's AC for about ten years.
It was surprising the number of suicides in the casinos: no, not on the floor, in the room or parking garage.
Pills, guns, jumpers ...
Never could put his brain in neutral. Great guy to work with. Had to be busy at all times. If tickets slowed, he would work on crossword puzzle.
Side point : gambling creates those same chemicals in your brain that drugs do. But relief in short term in both cases.
Same problems will exist when you leave AC than when your arrived.
But you already knew that .
That's what im doing this weekend, now gf-less...
Quote: aceofspadesWell, I thought there was at least a faction of
people who enjoyed my trip reports on a real
level - rather than on a macabre level.
I enjoy them, I always read all the posts and hope you are crushing it!
The occasional $100 slot spin would still make it even more exciting, of course. And with me backing $10 of your first one, it's +EV all the way. The Wizard can vouch for me paying my obligations.

Oh, but of course!

Those were so fast I couldn't even keep up. But the casino has to love him since they were mostly huge denomination slots!

Free advice is worth the price. Ace will be in AC. Lets all hope this story has a happy ending.

Checking in at R
Should I put my trip report in a separate thread???
Quote: BuzzardThis one looks good to both me and Edgar.
I seem to hear a heart beating from somewhere...
I too look forward to your trip reports. I wish I could be in AC more than I'm currently able to go...and it's nice to live vicariously through your trips. Sorry to read you are going through a tough time in your personal life....but keep your head up and stick it to the boys at the R. And no jumping from the tall escalator!!
Sat down to play and, while the shuffle was going on, inquired with a few people about the smoking rumor...
as I had previously reported, the plans (per a meeting just held yesterday) are to build an offshoot
from the casino to a separate gaming area for smokers (they are doing this to put the smoking area
on a separate ventilation system from the main casino floor). Dealers will be asked if they want to deal
in the smoking section and, if not, they will not be forced to deal therein.
OK - so session #1 played a full shoe ended up even
However, along the way, upon a dealer change half-way through the shoe, the new dealer dealt himself
7 blackjacks - insane!
Session #2:
Sat down with a couple of the regulars in the UltraLounge
I caught a nice double down (5,5 v 6)
then caught a nice split 6,6 v dealer 6
Left the shoe about 3/4 of the way in
+800
Quote: sodawateri do not understand this thread at all
It certainly has taken a strange turn. The guy says he's going to AC and is feeling a little down. The next thing you know there's talk of jumping out of windows, funerals and hundred dollar slot spins. Play on Ace.
If you want blackjack advice we're here, business advice not so much. Health advice would be to find the best expert you can for a second opinion. I'm looking forward to your reports and I wish you good cards!

But who will protect the thread from you...LOL

I realized recently that I enjoy interacting with Table Game professionals because they have so much in common with lawyers...
(1) They are in a Personal Service industry; (2) They deal frequently with stressed out clientele; (3) their compensation is heavily 'contingent' on events they only partially control; and (4) their chosen profession is one in which the general media perception is that they are dregs of society (as per lawyers, etc.)
Onward my man.

Thanks, but how did bob know ace was going to revel this weekend to begin with?
Quote: sodawaterThanks, but how did bob know ace was going to revel this weekend to begin with?
I had posted in the Revel smoking thread that I was heading to AC and would try to find out some additional scoop on smoking at Revel - then Bob made this thread about me :)
