Wow. Your eyesight is better than mine!Quote: algleQuote: DJTeddyBear

The piece of the puzzle that I can't read is the number of spins in this analysis....
I can read the following from your image:
Data Series: Last 20,000 spins
Start Date: ??/??/1999
End Date: ??/??/2000
Wheel Type Single Zero
Num Spins 20,004
%Std Dev 2.5%(?)
Std C?? Test CAUTION
Max Z Score 2.34(?)
Num Test FAIL
While this is clearly useful data for the casino, it is presumably collected electronically by those notoriously inaccurate scanners over the wheel.
I would think it is also likely the data collection has errors - sometimes the same number appears repeatedly after just 1 spin.
However the shape of the graph in this case does indicate bias towards a part of the wheel.
Even so, what player is going to record 20,000 spins to find this out at the same time the casino is finding out and fixing it?
Either the lack of accuracy of those sensors are urban legend, or the quality has improved since 2000.
I use photos of history displays in the literature for my Poker For Roulette side bet. I showed it to dozens of Roulette game distributors at G2E. None of them mentioned the scanner's error rate, or even suggested that the photos were in any way fake.
Then why are you bothering to reply to any posts?Quote: statman
Thank you, mustangsally. I have no incentive to read the posts of anyone who has contributed to this thread. ...
I have gone back again and deleted even more of my posts because I have realized that I have been becoming one of you. I have had many profitable discussions with the people on the newsgroup sci.math and I was a little slow to realize what was happening here, but now I realize that nothing good will come of it. At least it was worth a try.
The fact that the Wizard has a list of persons banned from the forum should be an indication of what kind of crowd it is.
You DO realize that the things you've said about Math Extremist (and maybe Dorothy Gale) would get you added to that list if this thread were anywhere but the Free Speech Zone, right?
The fact that you haven't seen it elsewhere is no indication that it doesn't exist.Quote: statman
The fact that the Wizard has a list of persons banned from the forum should be an indication of what kind of crowd it is. I don't know why. I haven't seen anything like it on any other forum.
Other forums may well ban members, but not publcize it.
As a moderator on a different forum, I know that standard forum software includes methods of banning members, IP address, even complete IP address ranges - all without alerting the general membership that anyone has been banned.
I don't know why the Wiz publicizes the banned member list. For the record, the software used to drive this forum was built from scratch, per the Wiz' specifications.
