anyone else occasionally getting a pop-up ad from coming to this site? I seem to be getting some, they open in a new tab.

You're not supposed to. I HATE pop-up ads. If you're getting them, I had nothing to do with it. I'll keep an eye on this thread anyway.

I am not the only person using this computer, so it could be just a coincidence that they *seem* to come from the WoV site

You might have downloaded a new type of spyware/malware. I had this a few weeks back on this very site and another which I forget. What happens is a template of a pop-up seems to steal from the host site (WoV in your case) and makes it look like that host is the one making the pop-up.
Clean-up is fairly easy. If you have any anti-virus program runb the full-scan and it should be gone. Ironically, the comment Wiz made is how I knew there was a problem. In over a year of using his sites I saw not one pop-up. Then there were several. Knowing something was wrong and having a pretty good idea how it happened (visiting a site where I could watch "Casino" online, also ironic!) saved the day for me.

Many virus scanners don't cut it. I've heard lots of people say that free scanners like AVG or other are just as good as the paid ones. It's not true. I've had a computer every day of my life for about the last 28 years or so. My first was a Commedore 64. I've tried just about every PC since and just about every virus scanner. In my opinion Kaspersky is the best all around scanner/protection. Run a scan with your scanner and then download Kaspersky for a 30 day trial. I'd be surprised if it didn't find stuff your other one didn't. I've had my bank account password taken, popups, viruses and other malicious things using other scanners. Since I've gotten Kaspersky, absolutely nothing!

Sounds like a pretty lousy track record for a 28-year computer use veteran ...
