Perhaps images of churches should be avoided on a gambling themed site targeting a largely Catholic, Spanish speaking audience. It may be offensive and keep folks from engaging.

But but but...they all show up for Church Bingo night! lol....

I could be wrong about this, but my impression of mainstream Catholicism is that gambling is a forgivable sin at worst, a human means of entertainment. This in contrast to American Evangelical and some Protestant (Calvinism, Methodist) religions that condemn it here. So I'm not refuting what you said, just don't see it as an issue for them like it is here.

Look, you get how religion works, right? First they make a long list of stuff you shouldn't do. That's so you almost sin just for breathing, let alone anything else; then to fix it, you have to go to church and get forgiven. Build in the guilt complex by getting kids young, but any age will do as long as you agree you're guilty of something and need to get cleansed. Bonus is, you can look down your nose at everybody else you know, who's also a sinner by definition (breathing, etc.). Even if you didn't do anything, you should pray for forgiveness, because everybody's always sinning, even if they don't know it.

Then they magically forgive you, either by praying about it or doing some kind of penitence, and you're free to go, at least until you sin again. Rinse. Repeat. Support the church.

Stopping there. Probably offended enough people already.

Do you get why most of the long-standing religions were created in the first place?

Okay, some may have been invented for money (I didn't mention any by name, [insert the name of a Scientologist here]), but the ones that have been around for centuries were created because somebody had a problem with an existing church.

Lutherans? Martin Luther had something like 95 problems with the Catholic Church.

Anglicans? King Henry VIII had a problem with the Catholic Church not allowing him to get a divorce.

Catholics? (I think I have this name right) Rabbach Jeshua ben-Joseph (you probably know him better by his Greek name (Jesus) and title (Christ)) had a problem with the Jewish church (or whatever the Jewish equivalent term is).

Human beings are significance junkies. We need answers to the big questions much like we need to blame the idiot on third base for why the whole table lost. We're not comfortable with not knowing anything or that anything is just random. Religion is a convenient answer lots of tough questions. No need to think when the church can do it for us.

A number of significant statements / summations in this thread.
I am delusional, or I really saw something.
Both can be true, but the questions remain the questions.
I hope I am not the first of those reading this to find, or not, the big answers.
But I really do wish all that read my words, I wish you the best....
That might be my minus $0.02 worth, but it is the best I got.
Good luck!
Youuuuuu MIGHT be a 'rascal' if.......(nevermind ;-)...2F
