Is there anywhere I can find pictures of the rooms & around the resort? More than what is on the official websites as they don't seem to include too much in this regard.

Go to their websites and begin to book a reservation. They give you floor plans and a glamor shot of the room.

I like the rooms at the Pallazo/Venetian better than the rooms at the Wynn/Encore.
The rooms are generally larger at the Pallazo/Ven. and I like the split level effect of the suite and the multiple flat screen tvs. It's also closer to other casinos like the Mirage and Treasure Island.

You can't add a poll after the fact. You must repost the question and forward the old post to the new one.
Wynn/Encore is more subtle. Venetian Palazzo is much more in your face kind of grandeur. The Asians love Palazzo.

Ended up going with Encore. Flying in from LA early Saturday night and staying for 4 nights.
On another note what would be the best route to take in a cab from the airport? I'm assuming the strip on a Saturday night wouldn't be the best idea.

The cab should go north on Paradise RD, and not up the strip. I doubt that a cab will do that.
Fare should be $15-$17. Print out this page and show it to the taxi driver before you get in the cab.

My choice is always the Palazzo. The annoying part is that it so caters to the Europeans before anyone else, but the rooms are modern versions of the Venetian's, they're big & comfy, and the casino is spacious with plenty of room to move around in. Plus, as a vp player the rooms have always been comped for me at Palazzo, while at Wynn/Encore it's much harder to get a free invite, and cheapass Steve Wynn does not comp drinks to players at his bars (and the machines go up to $10). I know at least 50 players of dollars and above who do not go in there because of that. Great marketing strategy Steve.

If casinos were important to you, I'd say The Venetian. I guess for your interests the deciding factors should be location with reference to other activities nearby. Neither place will disappoint you, but I do honestly think that The Venetian is more pretense than actual delivery. I'd stay at the Wynn/Encore but visit the Venetian/Palazzo. Now as to the Wynn buffet, I don't know if its declined recently or not, though I have heard that there is a reason the Wynn buffet is unlikely to have long lines.Quote: AussieI'm looking for comments primarily about the hotels and their rooms. Beds, bathrooms, decor etc. The casinos themselves aren't a big deal for me.

Yes. I think if you google this issue you will find two websites that offer pictures of "real" rooms in the casinos rather than the rooms that are in the casino's public relations photo shots. One site even has the following slogan: "Pictures from actual room given at check-in - not pristine ones from the hotel website." And if you are willing to sit thru a lot of nonsense YouTube offers some videos of Rooms at a variety of Las Vegas casinos, but most of it is not very helpful.Quote: AussieIs there anywhere I can find pictures of the rooms & around the resort? Rent a limo, unless you're alone. Much better ride than a cab or shuttle and not that expensive, $40 to $70 plus tip.
