I hate it when they start treating me like I'm some kind of sexual deviant when I bring a decent sized cashout to the cage. I'm willing to rathole and cash out at a slower rate to avoid that process.
Thanks in advance.

They can not require an ID until you exceed $10,000 for the 24 hour period. I trained our casinos to start asking for ID around $3000. It is not mandatory until you hit $10,000 according to FINCEN.

Understood. I realize that is the legal threshold. But I am not in a position where it would be advisable for me to do any arguing or standing on my prerogatives. My goal is to give them the chips, they give me the cash, "thank you have a nice day." Nothing that distinguishes me from anyone else in that line. That number I have discovered to be less than $3K and the quicker I find out exactly what it is the better.

I was also hassled for a player's card with only $2200 in chips(buy-in was $1500 at $100 min. Baccarat).
I told them, "I don't have one and they never told me I had to get one, so what's the issue?" in a VERY calm tone of voice.
The cashier then said "You couldn't have left with $2000 in chips without being rated!"
Luckily, the cage was less than 100 ft. from said Baccarat table and I pointed it out, the cashier called them and clearly approved it was I waved over to the pit boss who approved my Color Up!
The cashier Did apologize and I walked away with my 22 C-Notes without further discussion!

My impression is they may be trained to ask randomly anyone for ID. I have been asked for smaller amounts than you would expect while ignored for larger. Of course for larger amounts it happens more often.
So it may not matter what amount you drop to. They just randomly ask and if the person gets nervous or doesn't want to show ID, bam you are now on their radar.
