According to www.vpfree2.com, The Palms has added 20 uprights with Full-Pay Deuces Wild, 10/7 Double Bonus, and 10/6 Double Double Bonus. All at 25c and 50c (!).
The machines take $4 to earn a point (.0625%) and are most assuredly marked as ineligible for promotions. I plan on putting some coin through tomorrow to verify.
50c FPDW at a major casino property. Will $1 be next?

Watch the machines be always hogged by bottom feeders and people decide that "Well, since we are already here ... ".

I could usually find a machine when there were only 10 (8?), with a progressive, slant-top, and paying a full .25% in points. I'm not worried.
Thank you, Palms.

Well, the theoretical "earn" on the $0.50 Deuces Wild machines would be $16/hour with perfect play (assuming a very fast 800 hands/hour rate), which is more than the old machines ever offered.
I foresee problems. People are getting nastier. See Bob Dancers latest column, and I witnessed a catfight at the Gold Coast last time I played there on multiple points day.

Well, I was there this evening and there were a couple people playing when I got there and nobody when I left.

According to Bob on the 5/10 Gambling with an Edge, the 50c FPDW is expected to be temporary. I think he said, "at least through May." So it's basically a promotion.

I'm surprised no casino has tried kicking out people who hog a full pay machine for too much time, either with people watching the clock or by requiring player cards to play the machine and disabling the machine following a certain time limit (like one or two hours). It would be great for advertising - "Most Full Pay Machines in Vegas!" while allowing tourists and non-professionals a chance to play once in a while (since the pros would have to get in line with everyone else), and keep the payout range lower than the perfect play EV.

You can play FPDW at $2.50 a spin out in other places like Skyline and Rainbow Club, but those are way out in the sticks.

They were taking all the machines in those banks out of service as they became available when I left yesterday to watch the eclipse.
I heard one of the techs say, "just the deuces." I had a feeling it was going away.
www.vpfree2.com: MIA: (20) 50¢ : 100.76% DW in two banks by hotel registration ($4 coin-in per pt.)
I was hoping for longer than 2 weeks. I only got $25K through them.
