Yes. The only reason why he got caught was because he got stupid and desperate trying to get rid of chips that were frozen from the casino. Chips $5000 or less he could have cashed without any question assuming he was a known player which he was.

It happened again

So, his getaway plan was to go to MGM? Danny Ocean, he ain't! I wonder if he was apprehended while gambling the money he just stole?

A few years ago two guys robbed a rack at a blackjack table at Mohegan CT and ran out the nearby exit making their escape. The casino ran back the surveillance cameras and saw that when they entered the casino, the first thing they did was swipe their player's cards at the entrance kiosk. The police ended up at their house before they did.,

You have got to be joking.

Imagine if they were multi-carders who did the robbery and some other dudes we're arrested

Pretty sure they would coordinate the info with the police and cross check the surveillance footage with DMV photo ID or criminal records(if applicable) before pursuing an arrest. At worst, they would be questioned if they know the suspects and could simply claim their player card was misplaced.

I like how they say in some of these robbery stories, the Casino won't confirm or deny the use of magnetic tracking devices in the chips.

Its common knowledge that they are tracked with a small chip, at least the larger denominations, but only in the casino. Doesn't work outside of the casino.

Exactly, why feign ignorance of a known fact? Almost as if admitting the truth would get them in trouble somehow?
