After playing some craps over here, I noticed some unexpected trends playing craps at the M.
First and foremost, the dealers at the M seem to have to deal with very serious boxmen who it seems to me are only boxmen (not flipping from box to dealing and back). I don't know that this is the case, but it seems that way. The way that the box treated the dealers was not nice at all. The dealers were doing nothing terribly wrong and yet I saw a lot of behavior where the box men were not doing their job as well as they could have been.
The atmosphere was very tense, and the dealers, at one point, were arguing back and forth about whether they should take late bets or not. In this particular case, some guy was throwing in $5 yo's after the dice were out and the box wasn't allowing the bet to be booked. Nothing was unusual about this in general, except the attitude between the box and the dealers. It was all very tense and for no good reason at all.
A normal box would let the late bet be booked since it's a high house edge bet and would just tell the player "get 'em in early" or something and try to make a positive comment.
But this box was angering the player and making the player feel dumb. Then he went on to harass the dealers for wanting to take the bet. I thought it might just be the one box, but it seemed to just be a trend at this casino after hanging out at the casino gambling for 10 hours or so over a weekend with multiple shifts.
The M is a very classy joint. But these very experienced dealers were being treated like break-ins unnecessarily and the players were getting heat for nothing that they should get heat for.
Why can't players enjoy the game? Why can't dealers be treated with respect?
These were the questions I was left wondering when I left.

Watching one tense situation most likely involving a specific dispute or topic in no way constitutes "trends."

I see nothing *wrong* with the box uniformly disallowing bets tossed in after the dice are out.
You fault the box, when in fact it is the player who should eat the blame.
He was told repeatedly "No bets once the dice are out," yet he continued to try to make late bets.
Douchebag deserved to be yelled at.

Its good not to have dual rates. The box is the boss not just the temporary lead dealer.
Pissing off players is not good. Encouragement to get the bets in while the dice are in the center is better.
I understand the M has been offering low craps games recently. Five Dollar Craps at the M surprised me (as did a report on their five dollar Blackjack).
Slot Machines such as The Walking Dead are coming to the M but most new machines will not be themed machines.

BS! We are the paying customers! We should never see an internal dispute! We should never experience an attitude from employees at and establishment. I do agree if a player is making late bets you can ask him to stop and if he continues to do it you pull him away from others and ask him nicely to leave the table. It is about customer service! We as players can go anywhere we want to lose our money! They better at least put on a happy face or act as if they are happy.

Where has MrV gone to?

Looks like he logged in several days ago, so he's still around.

I had a similar thought and came to the same conclusion as B9. Probably decided to cut back his posting for one reason or another.
