The coaster was not running when we arrived due to some distant heat lightning, which might have been a good thing, since the track ran right by our room.
I am considering going back this summer to let my kids do the coaster and the water ride. I will try to get the all day attractions freebie from the funbook at Terrible's in LV. ( Thanks to the WIZ for confirming that that coupon is still in the funbook based on his Terrible's hotel review ).
I did like the design of the casino, but couldn't find any decent video poker so I played blackjack. Our entertainment for the evening consisted of driving up to South Point to see a comedian I had seen on Comedy Central and heard on the Bob & Tom syndicated radio show.
ps: There was a long line when I checked in, which was frustrating. But they did have an automatic check-in kiosk which dispensed your room key ! I didn't know about it until I had waited in line for 20 - 30 minutes. Seems odd that they didn't have someone mention that you could use that if you already had a reservation. So it's a nice feature if you know about it.
Quote: AyecarumbaIs this property still open? The buffalo head neon sign was off, and the lights around the property were dark when I passed by last night.
Buffalo Bills is closed for renovations until Dec. 26th. ( two more days).
Thanks GJ! A complete shutdown is a pretty scary thing nowadays. The owners may realize that they are actually saving more by not operating...Quote: GreasyjohnBuffalo Bills is closed for renovations until Dec. 26th. ( two more days).

Not sure of their financial situation there, but I assumed they did well.
Anyways, Derek told me about the time he rolled into Primm from California on his last hundred dollar bill. There were day trip buses at the time and Derek found a funbook on a machine with a $25 Ace in it. So he started looking everywhere for them, on the machines, in the garbage cans, everywhere. He would even stand out by the buses and ask the day trippers for their funbooks when they were boarding the bus to leave.
A few days later he took off for Las Vegas with a $2000 roll.
Quote: mickeycrimmI don't know if any of you knew Hawaiian Derek. I called him the Fastest Flush Attacker in the West. He played the 18 machine bank at the Riverside/Laughlin quite a bit. He looked like the Tasmanian Devil when the light came on. When the light was off he was slower than molasses. Tourist/ploppie types would stop playing just to watch him when the light came on.
