No, aviation has had its problems so we have to deal with it. I still do not like going thru all the hassle and is why I would rather drive up to 300 miles or so.

As to casinos, if it feels like a police state I am way less likely to visit.

Killing your workforce?

Only 1 in 50 has had it at all.

99% of those that do get it survive.

Most of those that do not had several other conditions causing death.

Unless you are in a high risk group it is really not worth worrying about at the level people are worrying.

I remove my mask at any chance I get.

The 99% that survive are contagious and supposed to be quarantined.

It's better for the economy if everyone wears their masks.

It doesn't cost you any money ($2 for a decent mask).

Why don't you care about the lives of high risk people? If you wind up spreading it to high risk people your response will be "oh, well, you gotta die for me to be comfortable?"

Take one quick look at about 1/3rd of the US high risk population and it’s clear they don’t care about their own health or value their own lives.

One can argue nearly all people who commit suicide don't value their own lives.

Regardless, the powers that be in this country protect those lives, even ones being purposefully thrown away.

If I would be in a high risk area like a hospital I would wear one with no problem. The grocery store is not a high risk area. Daily life is not a high risk area,

The masks are not doing anything other than making people feel safe. As to the economy it would be best for it if we just opened everything back up as we flattened the curve like we planned to months ago.

Where are you located that everything isn't open?

NYS still has some closures but already shopping malls and casinos are open.

And while NYS is being very strict, they also went from the highest per day death toll in the USA (1000 per day) to the lowest (one per day), so it's difficult to say the measures aren't working. (That includes mask wearing so again I don't understand your theory that it does nothing. The states that currently have the highest transmission rates are the ones with the most lax mask rules. That's a direct correlation you repeatedly ignore)

A concern for the increased security at Wynn/Encore etc will be that the same thing will happen as has happened with MGM’s “emergency response team officers” they added after the shooting. Replace emergency with slot vulture and it would be more indicative of their actual job description. MGM’s officers had nothing to do and were instead used to harass AP’s or anyone they’re remotely suspicious of, with Wynn/Encore being the way they are I have little doubt that will be the case here as well.

I am in PA, still many restrictions. NY had a high death toll because your governor put sick people into nursing homes by force. He was lent a huge hospital boat for this purpose but ignored it. That is a huge part of the decrease.

Sorry, but I will always fail to see how making healthy people wear masks makes a difference. I can see how having people work from home does. Any office I have worked in is set up to spread any bug going around. Making me wear a mask to grocery shop not so much. Wearing the mask to get to my table but not once I sit at it not at all.

I have no idea what point you’re trying to make here comparing already dead people to somewhat alive people.

I’m all for masks and reasonable precautions the only point I’m making about protecting some of the at risk populations is that you can’t really protect people who don’t want to protect themselves, the you can’t help people who won’t help themselves thing.

Wrong. NY's nursing home COVID infection rate is 31st in the nation...well below the COVID containment juggernauts of Louisiana, Georgia, Texas, Florida, South Carolina, California...

I am not interested in how it compares. All kinds of things are skewing these numbers. The county to the north of me, about 15 miles away, was a higher infection rate county almost entirely because of its number of nursing homes. All the counties surrounding had lower county numbers.

My point is the death rate went up because patients were forced into nursing homes instead of using the hospital ship that was loaned to the state. You cannot say with a straight face that putting sick people into nursing homes did not spike the death rate.

Yes I can because the numbers show otherwise. Also, the the ship was initially forbidden by the DOD from taking any COVID cases. It was designed to handle the overflow of non-COVID related cases. It was only later allowed to take COVID cases, and by then the crisis has abated.

Let me add to that once covid cases were accepted, that didn't over rule the nearest hospital rule for ambulances. There were so many ambulances called the city had to suspend requests to be taken to anything but the nearest hospital.

This meant the hospital ship really only served a very small slice of the city within it's ambulance range.

Although NYC is extremely small, it can take an hour or more to cross town. Not reasonable when other hospitals are within shorter range.

Finally the Cuomo nursing home forced death rate has been debunked by multiple sources.

Diverting to original topic.

Well they aren’t asking you to bend over yet to get in, so all’s good.

You almost can’t buy bubblegum* without a camera filming it. Passive security measures are here to stay. Might as well adapt to those.

More extensive measures might go away if the problems go away.
