Where to best utilize the Total Reward Credits ?
I am looking for best cashout value- Gift cards will do as well.. Does Harrah offers special Thanksgiving or Xmas higher cashout value promotion?
Say I've 100k in RC, my cashout value is 500$. Does it vary from property to property?

Any advice would be appreciated..

There is a holiday shopping event in Vegas every year. RCs go a little farther there, but you also have to buy the real merchandise that they have there - no gift cards or cash equivalents. I think you may also need to Diamond or 7 Stars to get an invitation.

I haven't tried to cash in reward credits since they started offering to turn them into slot credits. I'm not sure if they do that at a 1:1 or 1:2 ratio. If it's 1:2, you're better off with cash; but if it's 1:1, you could convert your credits to slot play and play them through. On a stable enough machine you should come out with more cash that way than if you just cashed out the RCs.

Food and shopping will give you the best value. I would only use 2 for 1 cash value if I were endanger of losing those credits because I won't be back for more than 6 months (like that might ever happen).

Every once in a while I will use 200 reward credits to get a $100 Shell gas card.

I will get $25 worth of gas at a time.

I use the gas card and the $25 that I would have spent, stays in my pocket.

Where are you getting THAT offer, unless 200 is a typo. 200 RCs is worth $2 in comps, so a $100 Shell Gas Card would be a HUGE EV on the RCs. I think you meant 200,000 RCs which would equal $200 in comps, or $100 slot play.

Actually its a penny for every RC. $200.00 = 20,000 points.

I used my RC to get merchandise, because that appears to be the highest return. However, I had about 40,000 credits and ended up using them on a Norelco Rotary shaver, which meant that would have been a $400 saver, which of course it wasn't. (I found it online later for $179)

I estimate the RCs when used on :
- direct removal of cost from your Harrah's room charges or dinner bills = 100% , ie. 400 credits will be $4.00 off
- the merchandise catalog gets you about 70% value , ie. you will pay $400 for something that is RETAIL SUGGESTED price of $280.
- cash out is 50% value, ie, 400 points will get you $2.00

We're both wrong!

It's 20,000 RC.

I use my credits for room charges and food. I'll treat myself to a nice steak dinner, maybe the seafood buffet at Rio. Things my normal penny pinching self wouldn't spend cash on. Also good for drinks at the pool. I can't imagine spending $35 cash for five beers, but somehow it's easier mentally to use my RCs for things like that.

I've never checked on trying to exchange them for cash and slot play. As was mentioned above, I'd probably only do that if the only other option was losing them....but I have a TR credit card, so I can keep them active without ever going to a casino.

I've spent mine on buffets and 1 hotel night at Southern
Indiana on a weekend.

Since I live in the mid-west, or possibly the east depending
on your geographic definitions, I have been able to do
pretty well on the Race for Rewards.

So, good post topic. Interesting.....
