Robin leach now has an article saying the same thing. We all know how horrible Robin Leach is with getting stories right but I thought I would put it out there.

I am not being as gullible as my last thread about rounders 2, I am just passing along a "news" story.
I agree. The properties across the street have even been remodeled to make sure sight lines to the fountain will allow them to charge more for their rooms with a "view".Quote: gamerfreakMy guess: No chance. I bet they're still paying them off.
If they get rid of the fountain, seems like they'd have to get rid of "O" - which doesn't seem likely.
Same thing with Caesars wanting to do something with their roadside properties: any new construction, especially of multi-level shopping venues, will impair the view of the property.
I doubt that MGM is concerned with the sight lines at a Caesars property...Quote: AyecarumbaI agree. The properties across the street have even been remodeled to make sure sight lines to the fountain will allow them to charge more for their rooms with a "view".

That actually seems like more of a reason to do it they have a show that beings mgm no money but the neighboring properties make a boat load of extra cash.
Maybe they want this public in hopes that either the city or other properties will pony up some cash for them to keep them.

And don't forget Cosmo advertises the rooms as premium.
But I still do not see them going away, although Ballys has shown everyone how NOT to do a shopping area.
Every video montage ever made of Vegas includes the fountains, I feel like it would be like Luxor deciding they actually wanted a rectangular building.

What's wrong with a shopping area underground that no one knows about?

I was thinking more about the new shops out front that are half empty or selling junk. But yea, I too forgot about the basement ones. Great decision putting a sports book there too.

but think of all the people they get from the monorail.

I'm a frequent monorail user. The only reason I know what is down in that area is because I walk through there often to get to it. If there was no monorail, I'd have no clue Ballys even has a sportsbook.

Me too. We stayed in Paris last year and used monorail multiple times a day. I am not sure I saw more than 10 people in the food court and sportsbook.

Yea but it's a great shortcut to Stage Door and Ellis Island.
Meanwhile, I've also heard that the commission structure is set increase on Baccarat because the actuaries have determined that the Asian players are not playing enough and/or paying their fair share... since they "sleep at the slot machines" rather than paying money for rooms. The commission increase will start when they double the cost for parking.
I "hear" the new changes "supposedly" come right out of the "lions mouth."
By the way, The Wynn doesn't charge for parking and seems to actually like Asian players. I suppose that it's because they don't see them as being "food for the lion," but rather as being "friends of the Wynn."
They actually had to release a statement. Why does the review journal even let robin leach write for them? I am not sure he has had any credible breaking stories.

Christ he looked like he was in his 70's in the 80's.

When I saw his article a few years ago I had to look up to see if it was him. I figured he would be dead by now. I was shocked to see he was late 40s when he did that show. He must have had a hard life.

Actuaries do a lot of things.... but this wouldn't be one of them.
