If there's any reason for this, it should be stated in the rules.
:)
In fact, that is what you should have done instead of starting a thread, in my opinion.
"because they are" is a good enough reason for me, by the way. If the Wizard found them offensive, I am sure he would handle the situation.
Therefore, Ron's reply, "because they are", is a good enough for me too.

Indeed! However, if anyone wishes to make a complaint about a remark JB or Mission made, he may PM me. If the complaint is about me, the complainant may PM Mission. While I'm still the HWIC (Head Wizard in Charge) I'll take his opinion under advisement. I am not above banning myself if I'm convinced I broke my own rules. I don't think the system even allows for admins to be locked out, so doing it on the honor system would have to do.
Quote: DJTeddyBearWas there a comment by an admin that you felt was worthy of flagging?
There doesn't need to be one in order to be curious about it.
Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
Also remember there are still other secret administrators besides me !

At this point all we're missing are four ministries :P

But can you make a rock you can't lift?
Anyway... I was going to be against flogging admins. That seems a little much. One letter makes a difference. Why whole wars probably started from someone needing glasses or a hearing aid.

Quote: 1BBDoes flagging still work? Can someone give us a quick refresher course? Use our newest member with the long name durgaprasadzone as an example.
When enough members have flagged a post, it will be removed. Flags by members who have been around longer are given more weight than flags from newer members. It might take a few or several flags before a post is removed, depending on how long the people who flagged the post have been a member.
I don't care to disclose specifics, but the system was intentionally designed to prevent a single (non-admin) member from removing someone else's post, otherwise posts could disappear left and right at the whim of someone who has been around a long time. The downside is that sometimes spam posts are not removed as soon as possible when no admins are online.

I wondered if this worked as well because I clicked on "flag post" on him for the first time, and it didn't give a confirmation/"are you sure you want to do this?" warning like I expected. I clicked on it twice, then quit.

On my mind is what kind of person and persons waste time bringing up and carrying on such an issue on a forum where even the Bingo thread gives decent insight.

I'll attempt to explain it to you.
There are expenses involved with running a web site. The Wizard has never asked anyone to help defray those expenses and most of us are grateful for that although we don't tell him often enough. We are also protective of "our" site. There is one paying advertiser here and it is only fair that anyone trying to sneak in free advertising should mail a check to the Wizard or expect to have those links removed. We have been asked to be watchdogs and are happy to do so.
You still haven't told us your motives for joining this forum.

I usually stay out of the 3rd grade exchanges, but in your case I am going to make an exception.
For someone who joined 1 week ago, you sure seem to:
a.) Know a lot about some people
b.) seem to spend a lot of time jabbing at people, especially some respected members.
c.) Don't seem to have anything gambling related to say so far
So, I have just one question for you,
What other screen names have you held on this site? And if you say none, I will venture you probably lying.

Gee, I just joined the forum because I read the gambling information here for some years and thought some people had some good ideas. Others not so much, but the good outweighs the bad in my opinion. The last thing I care about is advertisements, and/or the expenses associated with running the forum/site. That's entirely and solely up to the owner, and if he didn't have the resources to keep up his interest, he would terminate the effort. As a member, I believe my only obligations are to be respectful of the rules, and to read or post, popularly, controversially, or questionably, to my heart's content.

a. Knowledge comes from reading.
b. "Jabbing" is an artful form of many different activities. If it breaks the rules, the brigade of site-policing bloviaters are sure to remind anybody and everybody of that, should the admins. miss anything.
c. Incorrect. Please see "a." above.
You can create any adventure out of venturing. That I cannot help you with.
