I know its roughly a 10 % decrease in house edge when the patron is paid 9-1 on tie bets in MB instead 8-1.
My question is how much more would the casino require to drop on tis specific bet (tie bet) to make up the difference ?
I would like to market some of the older odds given in the past at the casino I work . I believe this change could actually create revenue as you never hear about 9-1 ties anymore .

In baccarat, if the tie pays 8 to 1, the house edge is 14.36%.
If it pays 9 to 1, the house edge is 4.84%.
If the casino increased the win from 8 to 9, then they would need 2.96x as much action on the tie to equal the expected profit as before. They would not get it. One thing I learned a long time ago is the vast majority of players don't care what the rules are. They just want to play at a minimum bet they're comfortable with. 6-5 blackjack and triple-zero roulette argue my point.

I agree with this 100%. Just make sure your baccarat tables are imprinted 9-for-1 instead of 8-to-1, they are the same payouts but the visual impact is substantially different.Quote: WizardIn baccarat, if the tie pays 8 to 1, the house edge is 14.36%.

I also want to add that a 9-to-1 payout makes certain advantage plays feasible.

How often should I be dealt a natural 9 ? Thinking of a promotion for MB players where they receive an entry every time they are dealt a natural 9 .
