What would happen if the gov would allow reopening casinos with the stipulation of no smoking? Help a nickel out!

Casinos would probably make more money. Gamblers who smoke wouldn't stop going (they'd just take smoke breaks), and the casinos would probably attract customers who have been put off by smoke-filled casinos.

They certainly aren’t going to stop gambling in total. Whatever “breaks” they take will be more than made up with non smokers coming in more often and staying longer.

It’s a tired argument that business will be negatively affected.

Considering the current crisis....probably a good idea to get it done ASAP.

The closest comparison I can think of is when they banned smoking in the casino section of grocery stores in Nevada. Gaming is still down 55% after about 5 years or so.

That's because the smokers can go to places that allow smoking. If smoking were banned in every casino I believe revenue would stay the same or increase.

The arguement I hear from casinos, is that smokers need a cigarette at certain points. If you are getting into a gaming session and need to smoke you will walk away from the table or machine and go outside, and you will get out of your trance so to speak. The main argument for casinos is, it is advantageous to keep people at the tables and machines for as many minutes as possible, so everytime somebody walks out to smoke it is a potential loss. (They may go outside and say, well I'll go try a new casino now).

The best results I ever had not smoking was when I used a patch. I have been trying and trying and cannot make it an entire day. A few problems, I'm not separating myself enough from smoking triggers and smoking habits. Also, I'm cutting my nicotine level too much without realizing it before now. Basically I'll use an average and say 1.1 grams of nicotine per smoke, a 21 mg patch will be good enough for a pack-a-day smoker, but if you're heavier, you might need 2 patches. You can use nicotine lozenges, but the idea of reaching for a lozenge every time you stress seems a lot like smoking, and that's kind of the habit I'm trying to break. It really stinks, it feels like the movie Inception, I once had the idea I could just keep saying no and eventually hours would become days and days would become weeks, etc, but harmful ideas have replaced this, like I'm self-hypnotizing myself to give in. I've become a cheater and a liar with regards to not smoking, almost literally every time, the idea to smoke and not tell anyone is so tempting, I'm better than that and smarter than that. I'm not sure how I became corrupted, it's like I'm really not allowed to quit smoking and I don't know it. I'm thinking I'm going to have to wear 2 patches or maybe cut one in half and wear 1.5. They try scaring you not to cut them, but I think from experimentation it is fine. I am not really feeling the reduced cravings much at all, the craving are supposed to be greatly reduced, but they're not, as it appears to me.

If that were true you'd have already quit.
