He's not wrong.

You guys had this issue awhile back some time after switching owners. Everything works, but the server latency can be soul crushing.

The worst part in my experience is the latent ad loading. The forum comes up, mostly, very quickly, but 5 seconds after each load, the page jumps about 5 lines due to slow ads. Which means the thread I clicked on is not going to be what comes up unless I wait for the page jump. Really aggravating, and I don't know what can be done about it.

I thought that was just my phone. Every single time I think it is done loading and tap on what I want, I get something else.sometimes I go back to do it again, and again I tap the wrong thing.

This happens all too frequently to me. #EveryDay

Edit: Ironically, I tried to click on Misc. discussion thread and ended up in this thread without noticing. Le sigh.

I've never noticed any of the problems you mentioned. And I'm here several times a day.

Could it be browser specific? I use iPhone/Safari.

Well, something has changed. The forum loads more slowly than usual (5-7 seconds instead of about 3) then after 5 seconds, it jumps down 3 lines instead of jumping up 5. Lol...

Seems like it's reformatting itself during that lag. Not that i have a clue what's causing it.

When I click the FORUM link from the menu at the top or when hitting the browser back and forward it takes forever to load. The threads seem to load much faster now.

Just an FYI I'm also having this experience.

One potential issue: Does the page load with the sections expanded and then shrink them? The lag I see is the main page loads... Then the adds load 3-5 seconds later, THEN the sections shrink. Could potentially have the sections default to not being expanded.

Thanks for your response and help miro.

FYI - it's definitely the tabs on the main forums page. When I just click the "Gambling" section all of the threads and ads load instantly. It's just on the main forums page where all of the sections load expanded before minimizing.

Don't know whether it is related to any of the changes that are being made in response to slow-forum problems, but I have recently encountered a new problem. On my mobile device, for the past few days, each time I click on a thread title on the Recent Threads page, I am taken to the very first post on the last page I read on that thread. This means I have to re-read a number of posts each time in order to find the start of the new posts.

I haven't been on my computer for a while, so I can't say whether I encounter the issue there.

Hi all,

I changed the way expand/shrink works, so now there shouldn't be issues with blinking at the start

Please let me know if it's fine now and if you have other issues

Thanks

I also haven't got this issue. Did you post from your phone? I'm asking because maybe you're not logged in or logged in with different account when using phone.

Thanks

This website will make you feel like you're connected to the internet with 2 tin cans and a string. It is laughable how slow it is at times. That's when I reflect back on the noises my modem used to make.

Very fast, pretty much instantaneous for me, so I logged in to post that fact. Once I logged in displaying the forum articles list on the home page started taking 10-seconds or more to "paint." Hmm.....

[edit] Logged out, speedy again. Logged back in, delays returned.
