I have recently inherited a vintage Ballys slot machine. It is a 5 line pay variety. It works okay except that it only plays and pays 1 coin. I have found 1 online manual that trys to cover this issue. It talks about the female plug ins on the back of the upper unit. That sometimes the left outlet gets pushed back instead of allowing the male end to connect. But that doesnt appear to be a problem. I have pulled the upper unit out and back in many times and felt the female end and it doesnt seem loose or anything. If there is anyone out there with any working knowledge of this type of machine that can help? Or if you know of any other forums or resources that might serve me better? Thanks in advance, Chuck.

I have an old Bally mechanical nickel machine from the Pioneer. I've done a little work on mine. When you put in the coins past the first one does it accept them or does it reject them?

I just tried and it actually accepts unlimited coins, if that helps or makes a difference.

So then you play and it only plays one line, but what happens to the extra coins? Are theyou just lost?

Yes any coins I put into the machine just go into the hopper or if I open the door and manually push the bar several times, still only one coin activates

Your best bet would be to post a thread in the appropriate forum at NewLifeGames.com. It's the best resource out there for home ownership of slot machines.
