Has the World Champion ever before been a 7.5 point underdog in the first game of the season ? I have not researched, but I seriously doubt it. I know Manning is throwing the ball great, his offensive line is improved, high altitude in Denver, etc ?

But no running back has yet shown to be a reliable 100 yd. player ? And besides , the RAVENS are WORLD CHAMPS !

I have only bet one college basketball game, NC STATE vs Houston. Was living in Houston at time, but figured any team made it to the big game should not be 23 point underdog.

Living in Colorado now, reading all the hype about Mr. Bowlen's Bronco's, BUT WORLD CHAMPS and 7.5 right out of the gate ?

First big bet I ever made, $100 when making $75 a week, in 1958 or 59 was Cleveland Browns and 14 versus Colts ?
Jim Brown +14 ! ! !

Ravens and 7.5 ? ? ?

I'm not positive but I thought baseball schedules are made up before the Super Bowl? It typically occurs less than 2 months before the baseball season begins.

And the NFL decided the Ravens had to play opening game on the road. Is Rodney Dangerfield the patron saint of the Ravens ?

The game starts in the middle of the line. Ravens lost middle linebacker and center. Broncos by 7.

I've got Ravens money line at +280. I think it is a good value bet.

No huddle offense. Gonna be a long day for the Ravens. But then I'm biased. I'm a Donkeys fan.

In my opinion, no. I show the Ravens have a 27% chance to win the game. At +280 that gives me a 2.6% advantage.

That is an awesome bet, very underrated!
Best I got was +260
Looks even better now that Flacco drew first blood.

I kept thinking the guys were saying something "sucks" (please excuse the language) and they are saying "Suggs" (as in Terell Suggs or something..defensive lineman for the Ravens?) ! Geez, I'm an idiot sometimes. Half watching the game, half working on the computer...

So, if the game ends right now, with 10 minutes left in the 3rd, I got it exactly right. However, I suspect turning the tv off will not stop the game. Oh, well....

Jeeze, maybe an 80-point season opener!
What a game
I wouldn't have thought Harbaugh and the Ravens would have made so many mistakes.

Nope, I tested your theory, went to bed at halftime.

What the heck happened!?

I went to bed kind of thinking the Broncos would win narrowly because the Ravens weren't playing very cohesively and had a few injuries. Additionally, they were only ahead in the first place because of that punt that Welker muffed, so that was kind of a fluke. Denver was also getting the ball first in the second half...

Anyway, I went to bed expecting a narrow Broncos win because the Ravens offense wasn't quite playing to my expectations, judging from Manning's five second half TD's, their defense decided to stop playing at all.

I went to sleep when the Broncos were up 18.

I saw a few bad calls. Of course the incomplete pass that went as a completion because no one wanted to ask to look at the replay. Just before the 1st TD was scored by Ravens, there was a pass and to me it looked like the receivers knee was down and out of bounds 1 yard before the 1st down. I'm saying the player was down, and it should have been 4th and 1.

Anyways, better fortunes next game.

Here's my 1st week picks....

Denver
New Orleans
Indianapolis
Miami
Detroit
New England
Tampa Bay
Kansas City
Seattle
Green Bay
Chicago
Pittsburgh
St. Louis
Dallas
Washington

Houston
Total Points 45

Against the spread or straight up?

Need the lines if the former...

I think the Bronco interception and dance into the end zone was the biggest mistake though....

Wow-eee... getting in the coaches face after that... I'd be heading to the locker room to have a long hard think instead.
