Whoopie!
The American Gaming Association (AGA) just released the 2018 State-of-the-States gaming report. This may not be everyone's cuppa'tea, but -- for data-holics, like me -- it's a LOT of state data all in one easy-to-access source. You can get the report here, but don't look for it on the main page of the AGA Internet site, because the 2017 report still shows there (as of today).
The report notes all the new casinos coming online in the northeastern US, something discussed widely on WoV. I find it interesting how many states from Maryland northward gouge titanic percentages off the gaming win of properties they regulate. I cannot help but wonder if the ballooning competition -- also discussed in the report -- will result in other "Titanic" casino events. Seems there is only so much pie and every casino wants a bigger slice. Kudos to NJ for keeping the state rake low, as it watches other states strangle the goose laying golden eggs.
Note: This report focuses on commercial casinos, as opposed to Tribal casinos.
