From what I have read it seems he is stepping down as president but continuing on as development and programming.
That's great. I really hope he gets the opportunity to take this concept to market.

You've nothing to say to me that cannot be said publicly.
There are some dramatic personas on this board, and I choose not allow them to infect my personal life with their concerns.
Not that they'd want to PM me: I do not give off vibes which would lead others to believe that I seek camaraderie / friendship.
I'd be willing to speak with you face to face at a WoVCon, which I've attended twice, but not via PM.

Ahigh, did I interpret it correctly? You are staying with the company?

And many times that is what is important. Titles come with so much BS that it takes away from doing what you enjoy best at a job.

There is a lot to be said for being happier. CONGRATULATIONS for having the courage to step down. Not an easy choice !!!

Best of luck, may your wishes all come true!

Good wishes.

Quote: GWAEThat is how I interpret it. A step down is not always a step back.
I currently hold a position lower than my abilities because I love what I do. I don't want the stress as president, even for more money.
That is a very smart move. Very smart. You can to live formlessly and get to accomplish what you want without having the fancy title and the illusion of prestige to get in the way.
Some want it, others don't.
Some wield if effectively, others don't.

Not a bad idea. But that takes a lot of people to get that thing here.
Good luck with the next phase, and keep us posted as to developments in skill-based games.

Can you get the "brains" level?
Quote: WizardCan you get the "brains" level?
Difficulty 10, 3 men to start, extra man at 25,000 my high score is over 2,260,000+
Record of my brag to Eugene for the score and Eugene's prophetic question about Red 5's priorities for beer and snazzy campuses.
I don't know many people who've scored even 1 million in this mode, and I put a $1,000 bounty on it and John Robinson accomplished it (of all who tried at the company over a year's time). It's difficult to get a million.
http://www.red5studios.com/2007/10/six-hundred-robots-enter-one-man-leaves
The full story of this mode and Eugene describing his quest for a million.
I have no idea what the high score is in this mode, but I don't know anyone who has claimed to get more. Stephen and Robert Birmingham at Atari both could get over a million before I could ever do it. I wasn't able to get over a million until I put up the bounty. I got over a million first (not eligible myself).
But yeah, this game is hard as nails!
How many?Quote: AhighNot a bad idea. But that takes a lot of people to get that thing here.

Last time I used one big friend and four day laborers from Home Depot.
I supervised as this is particularly dangerous on such a big table.
Damn, I thought they broke down into manageable parts. Nice stuff has weight, no getting around it.Quote: AhighLast time I used one big friend and four day laborers from Home Depot.

Quote: petroglyphDamn, I thought they broke down into manageable parts. Nice stuff has weight, no getting around it.
It does break into three pieces. But the flat surface is one big flat surface, and the entire rail is only held there by gravity.
That rail is very difficult to manage and could break if not handled properly, I would think.
The flat section bows under it's own weight (or seems to want to) and is super duper freaking heavy.
The legs down bottom are the most manageable, but still requires three or four people nevertheless.
I think that you might able the break the legs down below a bit, but if so, not worth it as it's the most manageable anyway.
You just gotta have a lotta dudes, basically.

Quote: BozThat game was such a quarter eater! Right up there with Defender for me.
There is a Dice conference where Eugene says, "defender had an average game time of 37 seconds."
Of course he is including the hour long players in the game to calculate that average and the median is far less than 37 seconds.
This is monetization of skill in the arcade market.
We have much more consistent game times for the best and worst players for one reason: we can give you money instead of free game time.
Still monetizing skill like the early 80's arcade games though. Same game mechanics from 35 years ago -- monetization of skill.
I can pull up the quote from Eugene in that dice conference about how monetization of skill works if anyone is interested. But don't want to do the work if nobody wants to talk on the subject in depth.
Quote: AhighThere is a Dice conference where Eugene says, "defender had an average game time of 37 seconds."
I think Eugene's best game only has about a 4 second average play time. Super Times Pay.
Here's Stephen who is the other person on the NanoTech Advantage Patent. Stephen learned quite a lot about casino math since he joined the company, and I was very excited to have him get so involved in the development of this patent. Here is the photo from yesterday -- we just put in the Millipede. These are both my own personal games from home.
Really.

Just for anyone who is misled by EB's comments, NTGL is trading at 0.013 today. NTEK is NanoTech Entertainment. NTGL is NanoTech Gaming.
Quote: SkepticWhy is the patent application assigned to NTEK and not NTGL? Doesn't that leave NTGL with no assets?
Because NTEK submitted the patent before NTGL existed. You can search and find the PR for when NTGL ticker went live.
http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/nanotech-gaming-now-trading-as-ntgl-300087872.html
It was AFTER the submission of this patent.
This confuses a lot of people, so don't feel bad.
Quote: AhighBecause NTEK submitted the patent before NTGL existed. You can search and find the PR for when NTGL ticker went live.
You should try to get NTEK to assign the patent to NTGL so the gaming company can show it as an asset.

why would anybody have been misled.
Quote: WizardWhere is the unicycle?
Not exactly looking graceful, but there it is anyway!
NTGL and NTEK are amicable towards one another, and everyone knows that the patent was developed and submitted by NTGL employees (me & STV).
Any suggestion to the contrary is personally offensive and bordering on a personal attack IMO of how NTGL is being run.
I am not responsible for the business sorts of questions like this any longer (IE: not going to reply to suggestion for what I do here), and I believe we will have a full-time IR department to deal with these sorts of questions.
But can we stay on technical subjects here related to "inventions" as this is on the "Game Inventor's" board not the investment or business board.
It's both insulting and off-topic to veer towards conversations like this IMO on this thread.
Maybe someone has the acumen to ask a question about how the patent works instead of who owns it. MAYBE?
Perhaps this isn't the right thread for this type of question, however neither is talk about nerdy-cycles (-;
Edit.
Drich: You should try to get NTEK to assign the patent to NTGL so the gaming company can show it as an asset.
Why isn't this a valid suggestion? Pros and cons?

Who is assigned the patent application in the patent office is a moot point.
The Intellectual Property and other assets of the Gaming Division of NTEK were transferred to NTGL as part of the spinoff.

This thread may be on the "Game Inventor's" board as you state, but the following sentence written by MrV in setting up this thread has controlled basically what has been discussed so far. See the original post.
"This thread is designed for discussions about Nanotek, Nanotek gaming, its stock, its products, and its personnel."
