I'm new I guess.
Does the shoe(an enclosed plastic) continuously shuffle the cards or is it just an automatic shuffle after said shoe is dealt?
I watched a shufflemaster shoe dealing baccarat and some magically way the cards were read almost at an instant by a computer as they were turned over. This at rapid baccarat. They also use shufflemaster shoes at the BJ tables.(Nagaworld Phnom Penh Cambodia)
Shufflemaster roulette was mentioned on here. Rapid is used to place bets but a live dealer spins the wheel and ball. However, the winning number is read by a computer once again and is quickly inputted into a computer etc.. Is this normal? At Sic Bo the dealer has to input the winning dice numbers.
Confused and wet. Thanks. Nok

Nok, guess you are new. Nothing wrong with that though.
Roulette wheels all over the planet have ball sensors that, in the simplest terms, know where the ball has landed. There is more to it than that, but generally speaking that is how they work, both on Rapid Roulette games and many tables that aren't on electronic setups. Some wheels have the sensors directly inside the rim of the wheel that do the same job, including those made by Cammegh and TCS.
In the shoes and many of SHFL's other shufflers there is card recognition technology which identifies the suit and rank of the card(s) dealt. These shoes and shufflers work right in conjunction with the product, pretty obviously. That is how it "magically" works with Rapid Baccarat, although i've never seen it at the casino you mention... since i've never been in Cambodia!
No need to be confused or wet any longer! :)
Cheers,
Spinner

Thanks for your reply. Yes, been out of the loop for over a decade, wish the rest of my body was new and not just my gambling knowledge.
I think the roulette wheel knows when a huge bet is on a specific number prior to the ball dropping and some how spits the ball out of said slot(s). I've seen it with my own eyes and money! Maybe air spurt, I don't know?
I get you on reading the cards, however, my question remains pending on what's going on inside the shoe. Is it a continuous shuffle as the cards are dealt? Actually, I think it is in some cases because they feed the discarded/used cards back in to the shoe! But in others specifically the one used with Baccarat, they didn't. So confusing.
Cheers. Dry today, the water festival is over! Nok (headed to a casino in Laos and will report)

I'm not sure about your part of the world, but this would not happen in North America or Europe- not an honest game if there is even a tiny bit of truth to what you say.
