I used to get $15/week in free slot play at my local CET property, all from VP.

2 months ago I played a few sessions of blackjack for the 1st time.
for Nov, my free slot play has been replaced by promo chips.

I'm assuming these are the lousy promo chips where if I bet $25 and win, I only get $25?
If so, what's the easiest way to convert the promo chip offer back into FSP?

would the Total Rewards desk at this CET property be able to do that?
or do I need to email Total Rewards and them switch it on the backend?

Thx

Don't assume. Usually, 'promo chips' are 'use them till you lose them.'

I.E. If you win, you get a green chip, AND keep the promo chip. They're worth $25 for gambling. You just can't cash them, or get check change.

Idk about CET....but my experience with CHIPS is they are "use till you lose" them.

Free bets match bets etc that have a piece of paper have always been "use once n done" style. Except for pushes, you keep them on a push. But lose the paper on a win/loss.

Actually, I've used a CET "paper" free bets at Paris, LV. The paper was also play until you lose them.

Holy.. I have never heard of that before.
if these can be used over and over again till I lose, then I'm keeping them!!

The other casino nearby used to have promo chips where if you win, they replaced the promo chip with a real chip and pay you for the win.
then they switched it where they only paid you for the win and still take the promo chip. :(

I'm assuming blackjack is the best game to play with these chips? (I don't count.)
(must be on even money bets but can only be on Player in Baccarat)

I get $200 for the month.
Whats the lowest denom of these promo chips at CET?

if I cant break it down to $5 chips, then I might just squirrel them all then at the end of the month just play 8hands at $25.
(I wont use my rewards card since I don't want to lower my already low adt and kill this great offer.)

When I receive a free "Direct Bet" coupon for a table bet from Bally's (AC), I take it to the casino cage and ask to convert the coupon for free slot play. I have never been refused. I then use the slot coupon to play Video Poker.

You can do this with a "Direct Bet" coupon but not with a "Match Play" coupon.

That is good information.

Nope. For some reason I was just boning up on this - promo chips are taken win or lose, while non-negotiable chips are kept during a win.

I have seen people get angry over the misunderstanding. Usually they do, I'd say, if it is their first time using them.

When I play a CET tournament, there's usually free play as part of the invitation, and the last two years, they always give me a choice of slot or table coupons, same value of either. I extrapolate that to think that you can make the request and expect them to honor it. I could be wrong.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

What I would probably do is talk to your host and say that you would like slot play instead; and generally if your play is solid they can make exceptions for you via the marketing manager. As for the "free play" just ask the specific property about their rules. Some properties will pay odds on a blackjack, and some casinos even allow a "field bet" on craps where they will pay on 2 or 12 but that generally is up to the pit boss. Otherwise the majority will tell you it is an even money wager. Good Luck!!
