Let me first say I read the Wizard of Odds article and the table at the bottom about enormous house edge on progressive bets.
My question is regarding a different structure.
Bodog offers a jackpot that increases until someone hits a royal flush, I think.
Currently it pays out the following for a $1 side bet:
royal flush: 100% of jackpot (currently over $58,000)
straight flush: 10% of jackpot (currently about $5,800)
four of a kind: $500
full house: $100
flush: $75
anything less: nothing
would anyone be able to calculate house edge using these payouts? thanks

Since you always see the 5 cards, the odds of hiting each hand are the same for Caribbean Stud Poker. And this pay table looks strikingly like a Caribbean bonus pay table. Specifically, Table 6 about 3/4 of the way down this page
Assuming you bet $1 for the bonus, return starts at 0.41152 + 0.029242 for every 10k on the meter. Breakeven is $201,241.58 jackpot. Still a large edge on 58k.
Let it Ride was first a table game. Then it was ported to video poker. So I guess it's both now.
